As someone who is slightly conservative, I believe that change is something that must be deliberated on and considered before going through with it. There are times when change is necessary and there are times when change is not needed. But, stagnation will never produce anything good just as change for the sake of change is completely fucking reckless.

You're absolutely right, and Iconoclast's attitude pretty much highlights how a lot of people view conservatism incorrectly. At its core, conservatism isn't meant to be about grinding progression to a halt, but about letting change happen naturally rather than arbitrarily speeding it up.

nah he'll be back in a year to necro the thread again
Then we'll be here. Ready for whatever battle comes next and stop spergs from sperging about.

I know he isn't posting anymore, but he is still lurking on the forums? Ya know, to spy against us liberal, commie, islamic, fascist cyber-bullies?

Oh, and I call being the Martian Manhunter of the forums.

Nope. Rule is that the first person who tries to call dibs on a superhero always has to be Aquaman.

Fuck, since DrChristianTroy called Batman, I have no idea what I am now.

Honestly, with Jason Momoa (Khal Drogo from Game of Thrones) cast as Aquaman, people might start changing their tune. Silver Age is long gone.

...Also dibs on Cyborg. And no I don't care he isn't main JL team.

That job thing does really confuse me. How can he be so conservative and refuse to work. It appears hes just using conservatism as an outlet for his autism. Something to fixate on and create this huge conflict around. It appears most if not all lolcows do this. Chris is the homosexuals and males. Sammy was sonic fans (although hes technically reformed now.) Moleman is "bullies." Jace is Muslims etc etc all the way down to iconoclast and the dang liberals.

Also I'm green lantern. Its only right.

Actually, with all due respect to any conservative forum members here, I suspect there is a reason most lolcows are driven towards faux conservatism and it has jack to do with any actual political convictions. Most lolcows are pathetic. They are, and always have been, outsiders. Some are aware of the bullying and trolling, others like Chris are sort of oblivious, but none of them are what you could call sociable. I think this spurs them to overcompensate. They need to prove they are normal, indeed they need to prove their masculinity or patriotism or whatever trait they are looking to emphasize.

It seems a good number of them do this by embracing a sort of crude parody of conservative identity. This is especially the case with autistics (self-diagnosed or not) who feel the need for stability and tend to view the world in terms of black and white. Chris sees homosexuals as bad, Jace sees Muslims as bad, but there is a running trend.

Honestly, I feel a lot of the Aquaman hate comes from Family Guy and other pop culture mediums. Especially when many of the people are more or less unfamiliar with the character in the first place. Aquaman has definitely had some moments. Geoff Johns' Aquaman was probably one of the high points of the New 52.

Oh, and I guess I'll call dibs on Animal Man because hell yeah!
