God I'm getting through it and if nothing happens to anybody involved in the abuse of the poor victims then the UK is a failure of a country. None of the perpetrators should be jailed, just shot on site in public.

Reading through the thread I think there's a misunderstanding about how the relationship betwen the UK police and Pakistanis.
When Pakistanis first started arriving in the UK in large numbers in the 60’s and 70’s as the country was in the process of deindustrialising, they began to move into the Late-Night Economy, cheap fast food restaurants, corner shops/off licenese, taxi driving etc. Those were businesses that brought them into contact with the UK police.
Police in the UK are almost powerless to deal with criminals however their ability to fuck around people that have jobs and lives to get on with is unmatched.
Pakistanis first encountering the British police I think understood on a fundamental level what type of people they were dealing with and that that the best tactic would be to encourage them to fuck off. They realised they weren’t their friends they weren’t there to help, and that they would casually shut their business down if it meant policing the town center at night easier for them.
In the UK if you have a negative encounter with the police, you might think ‘oh I’ll get a lawyer’. The problem is that most solicitors that practice criminal law are not interested in pissing off the police, the prosecution service or the courts. Their job is to collect their fee and usher you through the process in the most efficient way possible. A good example of this was the postmaster’s scandal where over 900 criminal convictions were obtained, based on the evidence of a bunch of obvious clowns. Dozens of different legal firms defended the postmasters and none of them did even a basic questioning of the facts.
Arrest a Pakistani though, and the police have learned they’ll encounter a very different type of lawyer. Muslim lawyers with family and professional connections to the police, judiciary and governement agencies, who will zealously defend their clients. Laywers like Aamer Anwar who successfully secured the acquital of two brother who broke the nose of a female police officer at Manchester Airport in 2024, even thought the whole thing was caught on video. (He's also Nicola Sturgeons lawyer). The attack was caught on camera and he still managed to drag the whole thing out for two years, and get a final acquital,
