The government bilingualism stuff is a result from the nearly successful speratism movement back in the boomer days. They made Canada "bilingual" as a way to placate the centrist. It's some wishful whimsical anywhere you are government staff (police, clerks, ect...) should be able to help you in the official languages. In practice you get no french service in the R.O.C while in Québec at worse you can find a guy fluent in xQc'anese (Duh duh duh...).

Product labels are printed in both languages to simplify distribution. One package for all Canadian markets.

HINT: Because the French are assholes and aside from New Brunswick, there aren't enough of them anywhere outside Quebec for anyone else to need to pander to their bullshit.

And ensure that in order to enter politics at a high level - or even operate any company on a large scale - you're required to be proficient in both languages, something that the vast majority of Canadians can't do so it conveniently makes it easy to ensure politics is controlled by the people who live near the Lawrence Rover

The countries Canada is trying to ally are all getting absolutely MOGGED. For those who don't know, reunification with South Korea (by peace or by force) has been the official narrative in North Korean propaganda since the 1970s. To give a Canadian comparison, it's unironically if Canada stopped spreading anti-Amerikkka propaganda, it's that big.

Carney is probably crying that she (trying to be inclusive here) can no longer recognize the North as the one true and honest Korea.

Because the French only lightly populated North America. The King of France had to round up a bunch of street urchins / prostitutes to send over for the men (also so they would do less racemixing)

I filled the census last night. And somehow, I did not get the questions regarding my race, ethnicity, faith and sexual orientation. 🤔 I'm reading they're only giving the full form to 25% of the country. Well, this totally wont be used to hide some things and push forward/inflate other things. I wont trust one bit of the results.

North Korea claims to be the descendant of Joseon dynasty (1392 - 1910). While South Korea using a more modern work "Hanguk" which derived from the Samhan confederacies of ancient Korea and the 1897 "Korean Empire" (Daehan Jeguk), which in reality was effectively a Japanese puppet state. Both Koreas, as well as many other east asian languages, use Joseon/Choson or variants to call the north and Hanguk or variants of it to describe the south.
