I saw someone else mention this, but if there is another round of serious lockdowns due to muh scary rat virus, the Cannonball record might drop under 24 hrs. There are dudes who have been prepping cars, new tech, and planning for 5 years for that opportunity. Ohio or CA locking down would lift key blocking factors. Aggressive jeet trucker yeeting too.

lol are you fucking with me? you linked data that shows that visa numbers are down, but you failed to include what that means. visa approvals are down because the lottery has been changed to favor workers with a higher income as opposed to a lower income. obviously the approvals will be lower under this system because there are vastly more low income positions than high. level 4 earners, if i remember correctly, starts at around $85,000. visa workers at this level (level 4) now get 4 entries when they used to get just 1 which makes their chance at bombarding the american work force in this pay range way higher than it was.

so i guess the question is do you want more indians taking low income american jobs or more indians taking high income american jobs? how about option c, which is neither. but we won't get that of course. i'm not going to sit here and celebrate the fact that he sailed high income american jobs down the shit river for the sake of muh shareholder value.

Are you retarded? The reason jeets are brought in is because they’ll work for slave wages, unlike Americans. Setting a wage floor, plus the fee, makes it so that importing them is economically impractical, removing the incentive for C-suite boomers to jeet up the country. I will admit that companies already taken over aren’t going to be affected as much since the Indian CEOs will run said companies into the ground if it means that they can bring in a few more of their cousins.

They're 'too big to fail' sadly. They fucked up starting with taking on McDonald Douglas which was a mess already. Then they got replaced the old school engineer leadership with the bean counters. Texas Instruments nearly fell to that, but somehow survived. Intel too. You can always see a good tech company start to falter when they stop hiring from the engineers and start with the MBA's. That's one reason why I refused to get an MBA, at the time all they started to preach was to offshore everything and only have the financial guys running things.

And that's killed or nearly killed a lot of mega companies.

I will say this though, wearing caps and hats for men tends to, from my view, accelerate hair loss. You try and hide it with hats, and it causes more loss at least for men by cutting off air supply. I can not prove this with science but I believe it is true.

If chicks wore more vintage hats or non-islamic hair dressing I'm all for it as an option, cause I don't think it causes damage and has been discussed might be beneficial when done right for hair health if kept clean.

this isn't just a problem in rural areas, it's increasingly a problem in smaller cities. fast food is barely hanging on even in college towns. a big part of the problem is overregulation.

oh ok, so i assume these fees and regulations apply to current visa holders, right? like the foreigners in US schools can't just graduate, switch status, and bypass all of these new regulations?

beyond that the next obvious step, since they can't just bring them in any more, is to simply outsource the work instead. have any laws or regulations been passed to prevent this?

theoretically this sounds good but there is a lot of infrastructure involved in being even partially self-feeding in the countryside, and it requires farmers not to be selfish moneygrubbing assholes which is a really really tough ask. there are parts of the world where people really can flip the bird to the globalized food system and manage for a surprisingly long amount of time (parts of the balkans, parts of SE Asia for example) but most of the rural US, people might be working in agriculture or ag-related jobs but that agriculture is monocropping, it's not yiayia and her goats or hmongs and their sweet potato patches.
