For some reason, that way LLM writes or talks -- especially talks -- is grating to me. Not as bad as "Chris Chan" derping, but still irritating. Whether it's "Grokipedia" or "ChatGPT". And I don't like how LLMs try (and fail) to sound human. I dunno how so many like using LLMs all the time, much less that trying to do that AI "boyfriend" and "AI girlfriend" thing. Like I said, it'd be much better if LLM talked like stereotypical 20th century scifi robots. Like the whole "AFFIRMATIVE", "DOES NOT COMPUTE", etc. thing.

🤖 🤔
Yeah, Claude (at least used to, it's gotten worse lately) have the least grating "voice" when writing, but I still don't understand how people can have long conversations with any LLMs.
And I say that as someone who spent way too much time with AIML bots etc. when young(er).

Have no idea if this was already posted, but I found this awful strawman in the wild.
>it’s too late, I depicted you as the soyjak, and me as the Chad! ironic, because he literally looks like a soyjak.

I hate clanker with a passion, it is such a forced meme. No I go with robonigger, it flows much better.
Noooooo but it's le funnie star war meme word hello there how can you hate that?

Creating slurs for a fucking robot is the most reddit shit going. Like do they even know that the point of a slur is? What you're going to offend the feelings of a robot are you? Calling any robot any clanker robonigger wireback shit literally any slur you can think of for a robot is about as meaningful as calling a white person a nigger. It's just cargoculting the concept of offending someone.

In Starsiege -- this one '90s scifi mecha-piloting vidya -- the humans call the Cybrids "glitches" as a slur. Cybrids call themselves "the Next" because they believe they'll replace humans. There's 2 campaigns, one where you play as a human, the other where you play as a Cybrid. Dunno if the Cybrids are offended at the slur of "glitches" though.

For the historical record related to this thread or whatever, and people who don't follow every other part of the forum and/or the news: Dawkins has gone off the deep end:

It's not to insult robots, it's to have plausible deniability that you're talking about robots while using those terms as insults for people (or in general to transition the terms over time from robots/AI to people). They're already starting to do it.

To be clear, there's nothing wrong with slurs or insults, I just wish it wasn't so obviously Reddit-astroturfed into existence or was the least bit creative or interesting. Like imagine that the N-word didn't exist yet, and it was just invented yesterday by Nick Fuentes. Would you even use it? How embarrassing.

Idk man I feel like even if AI scraped from 100% ethical sources, had zero impact on the environment, and produced gorgeous work, I'd still think you were a bitch for using it

Again, we shouldn't be building data centers with government subsidies. And against the wishes of the local populace. AI Dana centers also should not have military. Backing. Making it easier for them to get permits, but building a single family home, I have to go through 900 different departments of paperwork. But again, these people's inability to call out actual government corruption when it comes to AI. And Trump's crony capitalist buddies like Peter Thiel and Elon Musk. Astounds me.

That's the best part people get offended on behalf of the robots.

According to this video, since AI scrapers already scraped th entirety of the open Internet, these AI models will degrade without more data. Therefore, the people in charge of these scrapers bought legislation that effectively deleted local privacy laws through the Secure Data Act, thus letting these scrapers get even your biometric data. The Department of Justice has a AI Litigation Task Force that prevents tates from passing data privacy laws and private individuals from directly suing tech companies if they steal your biometric data.
