Okay so he's getting $5 a pop and it defaults to monthly in the hopes that paypigs don't notice. Luckily they give us a look at his donations.

I am guessing that monthly donations show here when they post. It looks like he's making maybe $100 a month if there are some bigger donations in there. This isn't his only source of donations, but it's still indicative.

His Patreon isn't much better, from what I remember (he disabled stats a few months ago). This statistics website claims that he was making $1500+ there in the fall, but those sites always come with a huge grain of salt. He e begs all the time (including for more people to pledge to his Patreon since they're dropping and he wants a living wage from there), regardless.

Labelle's average Patreon backer throws him a couple of quarters every month (or over 10p per new comic in Bong money) which isn't a lot, but still a rip-off.
 
I'll take swamp thing over the subway interviews. It's just such a dull and boring backdrop. He should go back to doing the interviews in the park.

The best part of the thing is that finnish courses for immigrants are like, 100 - 150 euros max. Also he had to take one to be eligible for unemployment gibs (which in that case should be free).

I think that’s the oldest he’s been confirmed to be, but Billy has said that different stories take place at different points in time. I suspect this is because saying “a 15-year-old had sex” is not good, but it happens, whereas an 11-year-old is full-on call-social-services. Not that it matters materially, the characters always look about 6 and they’re mentally permanent Redditors.

The only characters who physically age are Frank and Magnus, but that’s because they’re part of Billy’s fantasies about being railed by older men.

Labelle's most recent comic was about a nutter trying to assassinate the US president, and Bill's spin was that the president is the true nutter.

Another gunman was stopped in the White House gardens three days ago.
It's 2026, so an attempted political assassination is old news.
What's this weekend's weather?
I doubt anyone even remembers that a US president survived yet another attempt on his life.

I was hoping for new narrative arc, just like when Charlie from Turning Point got murdered. Turns out it was just another day.

Aging the characters to 20 would be a great way to shake the appearance of impropriety. It would also provide a fresh launching point for clever long term story arcs that can play out slowly over seasons as the characters age into established confident adults. Your early 20s is an awkward time much like high school and Bill can explore that neglected part of everybody's lives.

There is a lot of potential there for Bill to define himself as a trans while making the case that he is in fact a real girl and not a fat man in polka dot leggings. "The adventures of a girl named Stephie who happens to be trans" could really bridge gaps. He would probably even have fun writing for it.

It's also a small amount of work and tracing CNN.com is easier.

Because we follow Bill's failures, it was clear that he is blaming Trump for the chaos and claiming he profits from it somehow. I do not think most apolitical people reading that would come to the same conclusion. Instead it reads like he's lamenting the general chaos in politics right now. That would be admirable and relatable if that's what he meant. But he didn't.

This was his most incoherent comic yet. It wasn't just lazy, it was incomprehensible all the way around. I honestly wonder if he was high. Billy LaPills would be a welcomed arc, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

I hear you. Plenty of new ground to cover there.

Labelle mainly draws kids.
He can also draw middle-aged people by adding crosshatch stubble or lipstick, depending on the character's sex AGAB. Elderly women are given grey hair and a headscarf.

I'm not sure Billy even knows how to draw a 20 year old.
Can anyone find that comic where lads in a car heckle Ciel for dressing like a nancy?

Aging the characters up would be a good idea if Assigned Male was anything but a way for Labelle to vicariously live his fantasies through self-inserts to the point he needs two of them, and to punish his perceived enemies after filling them with straw until they are bursting at the seams. The characters being precocious and the content being age-inappropriate is a feature, not a bug; Labelle could try to fix the creepiness, but it is such a load-bearing pillar that it wouldn't be Assigned Male anymore. Billy's obsession with age has always been stronger than his fixation on gender.

Remember that AM is basically Sonichu with better PR.

It never really occured to me how much more successful Sonichu has been than Assigned Male. It has become an unfortunate part of the culture. Bill could never hope to make something so noteworthy. Worse still, infamy is his whole schtick so Chris outclasses him there as well. They ply the same trade yet the autistic motherfucker stumbles into doing it objectively better. Wow.

I think the next comic needs a cameo by B-Manajerk. Can't hurt.
