Honestly the whole idea that minor offenses should be ignored in favor of pursuing "real" criminals is one of the longest running and most harmful fallacies in history. Back in the 90's Rudy Giuliani implemented what was called Broken Windows Theory in New York. His fundamental idea was that neglecting low-level crimes that the media likes to portray as being done by sympathetic figures in media and the poor underprivileged youth, crimes like graffiti and public intoxication and turnstile jumping, that neglecting to punish those creates an environment that shows a lack of order. And so when the small things are allowed to slide, it fosters a climate where the more serious and violent crimes feel permissible. Basically, by not arresting the graffiti artist, you create the murderer.

In other words and put as simply as possible, the idea is that disorder breeds more disorder. If a window in a building is broken and left unrepaired, the rest of the windows will soon be broken because it sends a message that no one is in charge and there are no consequences. Conversely, by aggressively targeting crime at the source, like arresting those vandals and petty thieves, you instead reinforce the rule of law. So you never end up with the kind of environment where murderers or rapists feel comfortable operating in if you target the minor crimes.

I think that similarly there is a clear developmental pipeline between unchecked sexual deviancy and eventual sexual predation. This culture of normalizing or refusing to socially condemn the consumptions of lolicons sends the same signal of degeneracy that broken windows do except in the domain of sexual norms. It serves as a highly visible sign to people that the boundary between fantasy and the dehumanization of actual children is fuzzy or optional, that there's no real social enforcement against eroticizing the exploitation of minors. This will naturally erode inhibitions over time, it will desensitize individuals to the core taboo and create a permissive subculture where higher and higher levels of escalation become easier and more thinkable. Lolicons don't stay lolicons, the loli serves as a gateway drug to lower the psychological and social cost of crossing into actual physical offending. So it actually is important to address the problem at its route, otherwise you'll end up playing an endless and losing game of Whack-A-Mole with continuously and more frequently emerging offending predators because of the refusal to maintain the cultural order that prevents most of these freaks from emerging in the first place.

Having done a fair amount of documentation here, that tracks. Take gay shit. There have been cases where through extreme porn addiction, you have seemingly straight people suddenly jerking it to lolicon, taking it up the ass, and eventually fucking kids. You see the pattern enough, you can't unsee it. There is not enough bleach to unsee it.

Not to mention extreme porn addicts have their sense of reality warped that they constantly see sexual elements everywhere they go even if there is absolutely nothing sexual in any way, shape, or form. Seen it many times on random videos of parents interacting with their kiddos and some faggot turbo gooner somehow thinks daddy is molesting his child because he held her in a “particular” way. And when asked to elaborate they say such schizophrenic shit and gold medal tier mental gymnastics.
