New season of Dissida. I continue to love the writing. I'm not sure which it is, but there's straight up a scene were Rikku and Clive overtly talk about either the atom bomb or a tsunami destroying the city and humanity's perseverance.

They continue to get a lot of mileage out of some characters understanding and not understanding technology. In particular I really like a text where balthier of all people figures it out enough to come up with the idea of a fake Pokemon go game to protect their secret Identities everytime they move near the crystals.

Sephiroth is teased to be in the next character drop.

Now to stop spending all my freebies to pull Firion's skills and start saving up for whenever someone like Kefka or Golbez or Zenos shows up if they are bringing in the villains now.

Fuck. I was thinking one of those people who says they are 'crazy' or 'Joker-like' on social media but are massive pussies. Being Johnny Somali or Logan Paul feels more apt though.
Dude, Kefka was a Magitek General, that mother fucker would be a South American drug lord and be torturing people on a livestream to send a message.

The Tower of Babil itself is another plot hole. Your party falls from the top, like thousands of miles, and land on their feet completely unharmed. Also, there’s this giant chasm connecting the Tower and underworld, but somehow you can’t just fly your airship through it. Cid blows up the other entrance and everyone acts like travel between worlds is impossible now.
I mean it's a JRPG...what do you want bro? It's pretty decent.

The real slog is the Sealed Cave. That dungeon is just a real chore for some reason, yet it's in every side game. Sometimes MULTIPLE TIMES. Babil also gets tiring too due to multiple visits.

I don't know how anyone can see this game as hard though. If you skip none of the random encounters, you will be strong enough to do anything. There is only one instance in the game where grinding is semi-mandatory for Float. It's easily the most balanced of the early FFs bar none.

I don't remember if Golbez even knows he's Lunarian. Either way those blokes are all asleep.
Golbez and Cecil are only HALF Lunarian. They are brothers and their father Kluya banged a human woman. Neither of them knew this.

Zeromus is still silly though.
Zeromus only exists to big bad monster and is the "Hatred of Zemus" to not have to answer why Cecil and Golbez aren't like that.

yea a couple of FF's get dangerously close to apeing other plots, FF12 is so close to being Star Wars (IMO, even better than the thing its apeing in terms of dialogue and plot structure, no offense to Star Wars the OG trilogy)
I'm convinced FF12 was supposed to have one final stretch before the Pharos and Bahamut that got lost somewhere. You kind of just...end up with Reddas and in the final town very abruptly.

It’s the door monsters.

I like how if you play all the games in order you start seeing their failed ideas. Like in II where there’s just empty rooms, no loot, nothing.

You say IV is easy, but only if you've played it three times and memorized all their little bullshit tricks. At first I ignored poison arrows because the fire/ice/lightning arrows fall off. What a dumbass.

4 is the easiest. I had all the original FFs. I finished 4 first. You just don't skip your random encounters, find all the chests since nothing is a maze like 2. You're plenty strong enough to handle everything that comes your way. The only real wall is Baigan who's quite a problem the first time through. The final dungeon is also rough but the rest? It's pretty straightforward. Yeah there's optimization but it's really not needed when you just equip Best Gear.

Two is the hardest, bar none.

It’s the door monsters.
It's a little more. I think it's just a boring location. Nearly all my repeated runs stop here because I just don't feel like doing it.

Two is the hardest, bar none.
II is only hard because it's obtuse. If you know what you're doing then 90% of it is braindead easy. Make that 100% if you're playing any of the later ports since they made all your stats and skills go up faster. I would say III, V, and even X are harder.

Original IV and any of the 2D ports are really easy, but 3D IV is actually the hardest mainline FF. Even if you know what you're doing in that version and have fairly optimal party set-ups you still have to give the game your full attention during boss fights and many random encounters or else you'll get wiped. And a big part of that is almost every boss has powerful counters that means you can't just mindlessly aggro things (contrast to 2D IV where the optimal strategy in the second half is just casting Haste and Berserk on your fighters and watching them go to town while you have Rosa heal them).

4 is the easiest. I had all the original FFs.
V is also easy. Just hitting Flee or rod breaking, gil tossing, or Lv. 5 Death-ing what you can't skip.

II is hard because everything costs 10,000 dollars. Ether or cottage? You can't afford both. :stress:

Then in VI, the ninja joins, and suddenly you can buy 99 shurikens for the price of a Plumed Hat. So the NES difficulty was mainly due to inflation.

It’s also feels like the objective should’ve been completed by that point in the game (crystal hunt).

Not to keep bitching, but the crystal math in that game is fake. There are supposed to be four Dark Crystals but you only ever see two of them.
This is probably why V had you collect the Other Planet’s crystals in one trip.
Within three hours: smash smash smash smash, like piñatas full of jobs. :story:
