You mean we fought in a war where one country didn’t want to be invaded and annexed by the other? Find me a picture of a US serviceman bashing a Buddhist statue in Vietnam. When our troops chimped out and raped people they were executed in country and didn’t face a borderline coup.

South Vietnam were just as much pricks as the North Vietnamese. They were an incompetent dictatoral regime of nepo baby faggots who wouldn't have gotten anywhere without our propping up and brutalized their own people just as much as the North brutalized theirs. You don't have a picture of a US Serviceman smashing Buddhist temples, point there, but the regime we were propping up were a bunch of sniveling little slugs that literally banned all non Chrisitian religions in the country (yea, you'll probably call it based, whatever.) and were abject cowards in combat. The NVA and VC were Commie pukes, to be sure, but they had more balls in their pinky fingers than ARVN had in their whole body.

Also, we broke our promise to the whole country to let them be sovreign for helping us beat the Japs, so fuck that whole war, Jews or no Jews.

My father could have gotten out of it as a ministerial student. He decided not to winded up in the 75th Rangers Regiment. One Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars later he was never the same while still physically intact.

My great uncle got a purple heart. His troop was shot by the VC and anyone who flinched was killed. They shot him in the hand and he had to play dead to avoid getting executed. His friend who died in front of him actually met my mom and her family before he died. Very eerie.

Obviously he got PTSD from it.

I was an idealistic millennial who ate up a lot of Fox News propaganda. On my eighteenth birthday I walked into the USMC recruiting station and essentially demanded a ground combat job. I was an absolute autist about a couple things they liked and they selected me for cross training. Otherwise I would have deployed along with people that either didn’t make it or came back maimed or fucked for life.
