In regards to the "turn the other cheek" thing, yes, pretty much entirely it is what that particular and specific verse means, as is generally agreed by scholars. It is about not seeking retribution over an insult or otherwise perceived slight, as agreed upon by everyone John Calvin to Matthew Henry.
The Roman-Judean context here is that slaps provided by Romans to the Jews were often backhanded, carrying the implication that the person being slapped is lesser/2nd class. To turn the other cheek is to state not to seek retribution, but also to suggest the slap be carried out with the palm of the agressors hand, indiciating them as equals (as we are all equal before God).

That was my thought, too.

A fucking .38 to try to rush security to assassinate the President of the United States of America.

That Secret Service agent probably would have been fine without the bulletproof vest as long as his shirt was starched sufficiently.

My favorite part of his manifesto is where he has a debate club meeting with himself and effortlessly counters every point he brings up. The only way he could've been more of a stereotype is if he'd screamed something about cake day while getting arrested.
