Elon is smart enough to come up with some pretty cool ideas and has enough money to make those ideas happen. However, his autism means he's lacking in other disciplines. He doesn't know how wealth is produced (hint: it comes from creating value, not from government fiat. Everyone was a millionaire in Weimar Germany.) He's fairly well insulated from the consequences of this idea, but I think he genuinely has no clue why inflation happens.

Seems like an unsustainable economic pipe dream that will beset by inflation not long after it is implemented. Furthermore let's address the elephant in the room and point out if that we're all made "rich" by some kind of universal basic income, wouldn't that just be setting a new baseline for who is poor and who is not? As @Romulus augustulus pointed out how would anyone in such a system have the money to afford AI products in the first place.

Elon goes into the economics of it more here:

We shouldn't be letting illegals vote either.
Agreed, but is there even conclusive proof they are voting? Don't get me wrong, with how hard the left fights to prevent the SAVE Act, I am confident they do. I'm just curious about how that works when they're supposed to have a census of citizens prior so it's not like Hondurans could vote without citizenship. I thought illegals got them more seats and gibs. Then subsequently, they can grant the illegals citizenship and have lifelong voters?

Yes, there have been a few caught or turned themselves in. The problem is that the dems have made it impossible to actually monitor for fraud it unless they literally brag about it.

Well he seems to think that AI will generate enough wealth that the government will be able to consistently provide a universal income while also having enough income by itself to sustain growth and providing for citizens. Idk if this is possible. To me it sounds like a communist state with AI supplementing the underpaid workers.

There's no predicting how that will go. Nothing like it has existed really.

@Breadbassket

"Furthermore let's address the elephant in the room and point out if that we're all made "rich" by some kind of universal basic income, wouldn't that just be setting a new baseline for who is poor and who is not?" (sorry I'm on mobile)

Depending on what you mean, would that really be a bad thing if the general quality of life increases overall? I know that's optimistic but poor Americans today live a lot better than poors in Africa for instance.

These stats are already outdated, doesn't even account for the massive somali fraud, jewish welfare, etc.
If we stopped taxing citizens to give their money to foreigners, we wouldn't need stimulus checks, a fast food job would pay more than UBI would ever.
I'm so tired, deporting them all would be the kind option, and death a mercy for the ones who brought them here and fed them with our blood.

Is this a good idea from Elon?
Like Elon I've never really worked a minute in my life, so I think it's fine.

Slightly more seriously—

There are ways to acknowledge the fakeness of the economy that are inoffensive to the sensibilities of people who've been told their whole lives that wealth/sustenance/morality/etc. are byproducts of work (or of work-like things).

When libs argue for an American NHS now, they've been trained to say "Medicare for all"—which is fucking horrible, because Medicare is hated by everyone who has any kind of contact with or knowledge of it.

Learn from that stupidity. Don't call a thing that's not income "income." Step one.

His other comment about deflation suggests he's way too stupid to understand any of this kinda shit.

Sometimes, not now, I will think “this discussion needs more levity” but when is it ever a bad time for a joke? In my life I have even heard jokes cracked at funerals for the love of lol’s sake.

Have a great Friday gentlemen &/or gentlewomen

... something about their decision making clearly changed in 2023.

What your descirbing is the the blob and twitter files covered by mike benz

What happened was the goverment aka the intelligence/deep state apparatus needs credibility. So they trade money for cred.

There are institutions that coordinate signaling, the biden admin had people at the social media companies to push TOS aka defining wrong think.

But then the biden admin was a shit, and kamala and crew started talking about taxing them, I believe the EU was gonna boss them around someway and then our admin was gung ho with "shit thats a great idea you can pay us instead"

Basically the theatre kids in the shit show of the admin were calling in favors, pushing the SM companies to do things, with the implicit threat of regulations, to such a degree that when kamala burned out the SM crew kissed the ring and started allowing shit.

Fuck rogan didnt want to do trump and he tried to hard to give kamala and chance.

If anyone actually attends my funeral, first I expect them to unleash an endless wave of offensive jokes to punish everyone involved for not arranging a wake instead of a funeral, but I also expect every tasteless joke imaginable to be blasted at high volume so everyone has a good time laughing at and celebrating a life, not mourning a death.

I hate the leftist "oh muh decorum" and "oh this isn't funny" bullshit. Fuck off. The world's insane. If you don't laugh at it, you'll go nuts. Laughing is much better than being nuts.
