Kinda surprised they didn’t just deport him with impunity to where ever was easiest, but he did continue to be a major nuisance throughout the trial. At some point I suppose you have to doll out an actual punishment.

I can’t imagine he’ll have a good time. Asian prisons are typically strict in terms of etiquette. It’s not as chaotic as American institutions but someone like him won’t be able to follow the rules, and being darker than literally everyone else there is going to make him stick out like a sore thumb. Unless they have a special facility full of weirdos from abroad, he’ll never assimilate to the culture for the entirety of his sentence.

From what I understand, it doesn't matter what you did as long as you received a fair trial in a civilized country. Deepfakes might not be a crime in the US but they are a crime in SK and he received a fair trial.
