Staple of a nation. Pâtisserie of legend. The go-to place for getting called racist, where sosijrolls are abundant and stæak baæks are plentiful... also, apparently on every fookin' corner in UK metro and on every other corner in the suburbs. Did you know there exist Greggs outlets? That's got to be the first time I ever saw that type of store for a bakery chain. Full location list here.

buh anywæ - UKiwis, what's your Gregg(™) go-to choice, and why? Are the vegan options any good? Word on the street is their pizzas are sweet but cookies aren't - how true is that?
The rest of the world, please feel welcome to dox your sausage rolls.

I (un)fortunately cannot set foot in the UK, so sampling the authentic Greggs cuisine is not exactly an option. That said, the local offerings (the ubiquitous sosijrolle, chiefly) can be quite delightful, a review of a few of which will be posted next paycheque.

@Greggs.

I hope to, one day, visit the Mecca of UK, and sample the delicacy of a sausage roll.

God bless the day that I am first to be gifted first in exchange for my coppers, Praise tha lord that the jeet behind the counter gets the order right. Almight Gregg, bestow apon me this day a fine sausage roll that is hot and not lukewarm for your influence is great apon this wicked land.

I like greggs but it is so overrated. Sausage rolls aren't even that good, bacon and cheese wrap is probably the best thing on the menu all year round they have pretty good coffee too imo.

Sausage rolls are goated, but they need to be propper butchers sausage rolls

Or the reallly cheap Tesco ones, I'll eat them up like they've got coke in.

I'm no your a peein but Gregg's is such a great name for a shop, it just so comfy and every man sounding.

The sausage, bean and cheese melt is the absolute pinnacle of the Greggs menu, followed closely by the steak bake.

Despite the poverty-core aesthetic and prices, the food is fucking incredible. Buttery, rich pastry, unctuous fillings... There has to be some consolation for existing on this accursed rock and Greggs is it.

Never heard of it. What US restaurant is Greggs similar to?
Probably Dunkin'. coffee, donuts, sandwiches, cookies and muffins but this part of the menu that everyone goes to Greggs for I don't think exists widely in the US

ignore the "pizza", I've been to greggs probably hundreds of times and have never bought one nor seen anyone else buy one.

Hmm, given the meat pies and sausage rolls, it sounds more like a Kolache Factory or a Shipley's Do-Nuts. Sounds great.

I used to work there (production) until recently. The factory I was in kept having "inexplicable" downtime regularly, and one or two minor fire incidents in the server room.
They never had so much as a single fan in the room - this seemed like a bizarre and unproven concept.

What else can I say - they were good employers, very generous, the factory was spotless, very hygenic. There has been some attempt by the executives to make them appear socially aware and all that PC/SJW bollocks but the working-class staff making up the vast majority are too level-headed to pay much heed (eg: rainbow lanyards were introduced - and ignored).
Prior to this I worked at Dominos in the warehouse - disgusting. All the trolleys sent to the shops were contaminated with rat and pigeon shit, massive pest problem, vomit left lying on the floor, pigeon shit inside the factory dating to it's first construction - and the managers were arseholes.
Greggs is healthy eating compared to Dominos.
