Hasan IS in Havana and probably took the same charter plane from Miami as these people, but you do have a reasonable observation that he may be avoiding the fellow activists that aren't in his personal entourage.

As far as I can tell, this photo and his three-hour stream with spotty internet and a nondescript room backdrop is all the visual media there is of him today. He says he's doing non-live video interviews to share later and might do livestreaming outside, but who knows. He barely tweeted about Cuba today, nevermind having any photos to share of himself with the great, heroic Cuban people.

this is 2008, just kicked down the road until there's no more road. Literally everything from the past 20 years has been trying to kick that can down the road.

If we let the collapse happen back in 2008 it wouldn't even be this bad because we would still have more local manufacturing and a shorter supply chain, but since they spent decades trying to chase thinner margins and figuring out the exact minimum needed for people to live it's going to be so much worse. I don't have hard numbers but I'm pretty sure 50-75% of people in Europe and the Americas are on welfare, make work, or employment that is so niche that they provide zero productivity - and a massive financial crisis will lead to them not having any useable skills to fall back on, and no way to survive on their own in a world where they can't get heavily processed food made on the other side of the planet. Everything everyone owns is cheap shitty crap that's designed to fall apart, or reliant on specific services that won't be available. We'll probably start eating the old people.

If true this will make the financial failures around the Metaverse and NFTs look small by comparison. Seems like a better time then ever to prepare in some way for some sort of economic course correction in regards to the AI industry.
