So now that the goal was reached-what is the long term prognosis for the site? Does Josh still have to win every upcoming legal case? Or is the situation more nuanced? Or is it still dire?

Surely financially-Josh has enough to maintain the site-and keep a lawyer on retainer-at least for the next year-unless there's something I'm missing?

If Dong-Gone's DMCA legal theory is true it means we ourselves could simply DMCA every small website on Earth into bankruptcy via foreign and false automated DMCA complaints AND get a lot of people's dox in the process. And so can everybody else. And every corporation. And every government. The Custodian of Records must win and will win, otherwise the fate of the free world is death where we all have internet content tied to RealID, no Fair Use or Safe Harbor protections and I refuse that reality.

As for Greer's lawsuit... God only knows what the judge and magistrate have in mind. He will win that because losing it is unacceptable to any reality I choose to believe in. And Stebbins but he's insane.

The monthly money covers hardware and hosting but we must also remember that Lolcow LLC also has an employee that needs to live and eat with a liveable wage, healthcare, retirement fund, etc. on top of the site's expenses. It must be self-sufficient AND pay the website's owner's staff... which is the slobbermutt. It has to pay for his time to be worth fighting for.

Both Greer and Jones are suing for copyright infringement. If they go to trial and Josh loses both, he'll have to take down the link to Greer's book, the photos of Jones, and pay them both some amount of money.

Neither case involves the alleged infringement actually causing any real financial harm to the plaintiffs, which *should* mean that the judgement against Null *should* be pretty low even if he loses: the battle is more about whether or not he can leave the stuff in place, and the actual financial harm comes from the process of going to court, paying a lawyer, etc. If he wins either case, there's a chance he gets some or all of the money he spent on that case back (assuming either of them even have the money to pay the costs with, Greer at least is very unlikely to ever pay).

That being said, the Greer case is still ongoing six years later somehow despite Greer signing a document that says he has literally no evidence, still refusing to provide a document after the court told him they'd end the case without it a year ago, and being more than a year late in serving two thirds of the defendants after more than a year; and the judges in Greer's case seemingly just ignore parts of the law they don't like and also believe in time travel, so there's a possibility that either of the cases end with Judges deciding that Greer or Jones gets 10 million dollars because Josh is a big meanie head or something.

We don't know the outcome of the proceedings, or whether GiveSendGo will even pay out the raised funds. But things are looking better than a week ago, surely.

Sad that the redditor can't see that this isn't a change of Dong Gone's fundamental beliefs, it's instead far more likely he only ever got tilted about real names on Google Plus because it would force troons to submit a ticket whenever they picked their new (totally serious, authentically feminine, not picked from their favorite anime waifu at all) name.

I had to check it myself, but my private session does show both "consent accident" and "kiwi", although as mentioned above, people often request removal of search terms and results from search engines using forms, takedown requests, etc.
