You don't know how rhetorical questions work so i'll lay it out for you: Iran involves NATO because NATO is being surrounded on all sides by a loose, but very aggressive, coalition of Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Pakistan and several other turd world shitholes.

Iran is supplying Russia with drones, China is supplying them with money and other supplies, Russia is supplying Iran with intelligence, Russia supplied troops to Syria, Russia harbored Assad when he fled, China is flooding the west with drugs and brainrot, Iran is threatening to sink NATO shipping vessels, China is threatening to invade Taiwan, etc.

We are not in a world where we can just defend our borders with muskets, live in a cabin in the woods and fish and expect the rest will leave us alone.

The idea that NATO is only effected the moment Russian tanks are actively rolling over the border of a NATO country is the kind of complacent short term Obama thinking that has led us to all this crap to begin with. NATO is currently under attack by Russia, and by extension Iran, China, and North Korea. Not potentially, not possibly, but currently.
