i don't know what fucking shithole state these people are from, but in ohio it's 22 dollars for a copy of your birth certificate. a passport card is only 65 dollars. a passport book, 165, is valid for 10 years. this doesn't matter, though, because that's not what the SAVE act even requires. it requires proof of citizenship, which a REAL ID is appropriate for. you can also use any photo ID that shows your place of birth.

OR, you can use a regular ID and show your birth certificate, a hospital birth record, an adoption decree showing birth in the US, or even your naturalization paperwork.

none of this is difficult to obtain in any way. none of this costs more than a few cheeseburgers. this is fucking ridiculous.

This is factually incorrect. Real ID only shows that you're here legally, not that you're a citizen. Only 5 states offer real IDs that show citizenship, Minnesota, New York, Washington, Michigan and Vermont. But at the end of the day it doesnt matter, if you're too broke to prove citizenship you shouldn't vote anyway.
