Didn't see much of a thread regarding all the fine antics of Portland and the people who live there, so I thought to make one.

Lesbian bar shuts down one week after opening because they weren't woke enough

Doc Marie’s is a lesbian bar that opened on July 1st of this year with the hope of bringing more inclusivity to the city of Portland. But just one week after their grand opening they were forced to shut down because of complaints that the bar was not a “safe space.” Similar to the story I wrote a few weeks ago about the queer-owned cafe in Philadelphia that was shut down by employees for not being woke enough, Doc Marie’s was cannibalized by the woke mob.

The crowd on opening day was huge. One woman said that the line for entry on opening night was “wrapped around the block” with “literally 200 lesbians” waiting to get in.

But the excitement about a new progressive hangout dissipated quickly. Within days, Doc Marie’s found itself on the receiving end of accusations of not being inclusive enough for trans people and people of color. Despite mask mandates being lifted in Portland, patrons accused the bar of not implementing enough COVID safety measures. Patrons also claimed that Doc Marie’s had “culturally appropriative art” on the walls.
One TikToker, who says she attended the grand opening, breaks down the accusations against the bar:

Employees of Doc Marie’s created an Instagram page to echo these concerns. They claimed that the owners weren’t proactive enough in creating a safe space and accused the owners of racism. The employees also demanded that the bar host “free opportunities for education” for the community.

Eventually, the employees demanded the owners relinquish ownership of the bar and hand the business to them. The owners were given a “24-hour deadline” to adhere to the ludicrous demands.

Just five days after opening, the bar announced on July 6th that they had to close temporarily in order to address the cries from the woke mob for a “safe and inclusive space.”

Surrendering to the woke mob doesn’t appear to be working out in Doc Marie’s favor, as the bar remains closed with no public plan to reopen.

Otters are rock-chucking, necrophilic, rapist little sociopaths with no regard for life and are known carriers for disease. They regularly murder for fun and will hold other otters' pups hostage for food.
So a perfect mascot for Portland ultra-lefties.

Elephants deli on Burnside burned down early this morning. Cameras show the fire was deliberately set by a criddler.

I hate the homeless so fucking much. When will this worthless city finally say enough is enough and start cracking down HARD on these vermin?

Something similar but much worse happened over in NE Portland a couple years ago. There was a probably 100 year old building directly behind a very trendy Cafe on Sandy near apartments and a colony of bums set up camp outside. The bottom of it was commercial space and behind it was an apartment. The Portland Police put up a notice that they had to evacuate and guess what? Place burned down. Arson. The articles claims the motive was "unknown at this time" which is pretty typical for local news.

People act like homelessness has zero effect whatsoever on the local population and it's just lies. They dump trash, hassle people, piss and shit and start fires. They aren't innocent or harmless. Never have been

I've warned people about them before, but noo, they always just go "Awww, they're just a bunch of cute little fellas."

That's how they get you, though. They're mustelids, and like all other mustelids such as the wolverine, badger, and even the mink, they have a lust for blood and living flesh that's impossible to sate.

I was in Walmart the other day and I made a joke to one of the employees about the drinking cups being locked behind a glass case (they were less than $10). At least, I thought to myself, a homeless person stealing a mug so he can drink out of it makes sense, even though they're so cheap you could easily just beg for it. He told me that they lose over $1,000 a month in stolen pens... I really can't wrap my head around that one. I hadn't been in a Walmart in years, so much random crap was locked up like a prison concession - ALL the meat, key rings, socks... it was almost like visiting the zoo, I was gawking at all the random shit they needed to put behind glass. Homeless methhead thieves are a fucking plague and I don't know how anyone can have any sympathy for them.

Its not the big expensive stuff that gets stolen like crazy, its the tiny, cheap, easy-to-hide things that people just put in their pockets and walk away with.

Criminals roam freely while the law abiding and their property sit behind bars. Some real invert shit.

But they're PENS! Go through some abandoned roadside couch cushions for the $1 to buy them, or go to someplace where they give away free branded pens like car dealerships. Or just ask somebody for one?? What situation are you even in that you need a pen so desperately and so quickly that you have no choice but to steal it... pretty sure even a schoolkid can bum some free pens from fellow students or a teacher or a charity.

Also, I'd love to see how a criminal hides away $75 worth of packaged steaks or one of those giant Stanley cups. I'm imagining trying to stuff those in a purse or down your pants and then pretending there's not an obviously shaped bulge while you waddle past the receipt checker.

Yeah, its not like lunchtime rowdies are known for wearing large, oversized hooded sweaters or anything else of the sort that might conceal hidden items, no matter the weather.

Or hobos and their multi-pocketed outfits and backpacks and bags since they're forced to carry all of their belongings with them at all times.

A lot of stores have a policy where the workers can't chase after a thief. So they can just load up a cart with meat and book it out the door.

It's pottery.....

It's not the value of the item that motivates the theft, it's the chance to do it and get away with it as a "FUCK YOU" by the vagrant, the junkie or the frustrated socialist to "the man".

Can't forget the decriminalization of shoplifting, as well. As long as you load up your cart with what, $499 worth of goods in CA its just a warning, even if a cop sees you right then and there.

And then sell for whatever price on online marketplaces or on the side of the road or some street corner. IIRC, I think someone busted a thing where makeup was stolen and later sold on Amazon or Facebook Marketplace.

Because why pay for literally anything you need if you can steal it when you're a crackhead? Need a pen? Steal it. Need a pair of shoes? Steal them. Need a roll of toilet paper? Steal it.

Every dollar you spend on goods and services is one less dollar you can spend on drugs, and your primary motivation is to buy as much drugs as you can get to stay constantly high.

Should i move to portland? Got a pretty good job offer and i am ruminating on going there. Based on what i see on tv(lol) its a shit hole with annoying people, but i have learned repeatedly not to depend on media entirely.

Portlandsissies....... response?

I'm late to this but I was in jail - have an exit plan. it's very, very easy to get stuck here and you do not want to wake up in Portland and 45.

I have a fun story to share about this. I worked at a Safeway in my 20s as a cashier and during our training they literally told us directly "If you try and stop someone from stealing you will be fired on the spot. No warning you're terminated". And it happened too. This 18 year old huge dude who worked as a bagger tried to stop a guy from running out with some beer and he was fired on the spot. Like they brought him into the office signed the paperwork and sent him home. This was all in Portland. "Why don't they stop them?!" this is why. They literally will lose their jobs.

And the company will get sued, which is why they are ruthless about terminating hero employees.

I'm either retarded, naïve, or gullible. My brain literally does not understand how to think this way. Stealing just for the sake of, to say "screw you" to some corporation (owned, operated by, and supporting actual human beings) like a literal toddler having a meltdown? "Saving" a few dollars here and there by being a thief to buy more drugs - get a fucking job? Maybe stop doing the fucking drugs? Or steal the drugs directly? I can understand desperation and stealing something you need to survive when you're out of options, but none of this is that.... On top of it all, PEOPLE DEFEND THIS SHIT. If you act this way you are literally like an animal, you have lost the spark of humanity inside you and are just going from moment to moment obeying only your instincts, with no concern for anyone or anything else whatsoever. I would, literally and without any dramatic flair, rather die than turn into one of these creatures. It's horrifying and pitiful, like a punishment from god or some kind of eldritch curse has turned them into ghouls or draugr.
