Mamdani continues to amaze me with his retardation because why would you deregulate something like that?
A reminder that his only degree is in African Studies, literally that's all he has for his post-high school education.
I was completely right in saying that Mamdani's support in NYC would fall apart within 6 months of entering office and that he would empty the treasury if he followed through with his ideas. The guy literally had
no idea as to what the economic situation in the city was before being elected and you can see his demeanor completely change after somebody working in the treasury broke the news to him last month. He will raise taxes even higher and sorely regret ever entertaining the idea of fare-free buses and government ran grocery stores because he got the sub 90 IQ retards in the city excited for nothing.
The average person truly is profoundly stupid; these dumbasses genuinely thought Eric Adams was just hoarding the billions needed to fix the city somewhere because he felt like being evil or something and that Mamdani was gonna be the only person in NYC's history to tap into this money that was hidden somewhere in the treasury.
You're not completely wrong, but I would like to point out that literally
every mayor since Bloomberg's third term ended was basically a Democrat who reneged on their campaign promises. It happened with De Blasio, it happened with Eric Adams, and it's happening again with Zohran Mamdani. Mamdani was also basically guaranteed to win because the primary, and by extension, the mayoral race because there were literally no better options. Think about it like this: ranked choice voting was not something that NYC's institutional industrial complex wanted for the mayoral race. NYS and NYC are so fundamentally warped by Democrat hegemony, and yet they had to resort to ranked choice voting because
none of their candidates could crack a clean 50% majority. The internal polling was
that bad.
Lemme clue you in on something with NYS Democrat "culture." Yes, NYS is uniquely captured by Democrat hegemony, there are definitely tons of parallels to NYS's failures of governance relative to other Democrat strongholds, but the political culture here is starkly different to that of Washington state, Illinois, Oregon, and California. Gavin Newsom can basically act like a shit-eating used car salesman all he wants, and no one in California can say otherwise. JB Pritzker and Lori Lightfoot can shoot themselves in the foot, and everyone's too disaffected to care because of how blatant the corruption is. Here in NYS? Democrat leadership isn't immune to the press and commoners heckling them. Public acrimony toward elected officials both from the press and the constituencies are genuinely among the few outlets that voting people have to express their frustrations. Voters
know that they have no better options ever since NYGOP just decided milquetoast impotence was the best way forward after Pataki, Giuliani, and Bloomberg exited office. If Cuomo, Hochul, Adams, or even Mamdani (among a myriad of other officials) start getting really aggressive negative attention, that's their cue that
something has to give. Maybe it's a performative gesture that doesn't accomplish much, but that voter psychology is critical to understanding why the NYC mayoral race was such a fucking shitshow.
Don't believe me? Let's look at who we had running against a literal babyface with no fucking experience whatsoever.
a) Everyone fucking hates Andrew Cuomo. Full stop. 10+ years of his corrupt, strongman administration all because his father was the governor before George Pataki. He was the literal face of NYS Democrats for a decade straight, and he managed to fuck up so cataclysmically bad during COVID. Not just because of the acrimony between him and De Blasio that led to the COVID response stalling out for most of February and March 2020, but also the disastrous policy he personally spearheaded where COVID patients were given beds in nursing homes, which led to
tons of old people dying. There is not a single person in NYS who doesn't know someone whose parents or grandparents died in a nursing home. Not a single one. He was grandstanding so hard, making daily speeches on TV, winning Emmys and signing book deals about how great his governance was... and he literally killed off a not-insignificant chunk of the voting population just to satisfy his ego. Oh, and let's not forget his tone-deaf "get an essential job" rhetoric when people were rightly pissed about lockdowns fucking with their employment.
You wanna know why those sexual assault allegations took off? It ain't because it never happened; name me a single NYS governor or mayor who
didn't call the escort service or otherwise know where the bodies are buried. It's because he managed to piss off a significant chunk of institutional Democrats within Albany to
warrant the allegations to actually get airtime, such that he'd resign. So he fucks off for a few years, and then comes back running for mayor of the very city that he himself was half-responsible for fucking up during COVID. Oh, and if that weren't bad enough, he was still trying to gaslight New Yorkers about how he didn't actually kill all those old people, that the policy was good actually, and how he did not have sexual relations with those women.
No fucking shit he lost the mayoral primary against a literal Ugandan Desi immigrant with no political experience whatsoever and a degree in African Studies. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: you could literally have a paranoid schizophrenic with a known history of crack-cocaine and methamphetamine abuse running for mayor of NYC, whose only campaign promise is to kill and kill again, and the paranoid schizophrenic would win against Andrew Cuomo in a landslide. You seriously
cannot underestimate just how much visceral contempt New Yorkers everywhere (not just in NYC, but NYS as a whole) have for Cuomo. Seriously, even his margins for winning by his third term were considerably smaller than his second term, which itself was a far cry from when he first got into office.
b) Eric Adams had
one job: to
not be like De Blasio. We had eight fucking years of De Blasio's performative bullshit where he pretended to stump the Trump, failing to make national headlines outside of federal corruption probes, and generally witnessing a stark QOL decline from the Bloomberg days. Not only did Eric Adams renege on his campaign promises of being a moderate, he turned out to be De Blasio on steroids. NYC's sanctuary policies were already on the books as far back as the 1970s iirc. De Blasio signal boosted under Trump, but Greg Abbott and Ron DeSantis didn't bus migrants up to NYS at that time. It was Eric Adams who, under the disastrous border situation with Biden, proudly proclaimed NYC was a sanctuary open to all... and then Abbott and DeSantis were like "Okay, fine. Here's a few busloads. Enjoy." What happens next? Adams' tenure was 100% under Biden, so cooperating with a neutered ICE wouldn't do jack fucking shit.
He fucking opens up the biggest NGO-industrial complex for illegal aliens, complete with debit cards with recurring stipends, free room & board, and benefits access via public transit and the public school system.
He opened up migrant camps all over the city, which themselves became hotbeds for Tren de Aragua recruitment because NYPD wasn't allowed in the shelters to arrest literal criminals. You had literal
girls lining up the streets of Jackson Heights, Woodside, and Long Island City as prostitutes. You had hardware stores getting robbed in broad daylight while they brazenly sold stolen merchandise on street corners. Not to mention that so many of these camps were opened up within walking distance of NYC's most vital constituencies. Dude, even Democrat city council members and representatives from places like Eastern Queens where the most controversial camps opened up were chewing out the Adams administration for this bullshit.
Oh, but Adams won't stop going on national TV talking about how Biden needs to actually grant protected status to these illegal aliens that
no one wanted. These camps were undergirded by NGOs who, post-Trump 47's inauguration following the shutdown of all the camps, are now being audited and subpoenaed because it turns out that there were serious conflicts of interest and books getting cooked the whole damn time. If that weren't bad enough, Eric Adams remained indignant until the very end, only making peace with being a one-term mayor once he realised that at least Cuomo would take a harder licking than he did. I just hope the payouts from the Turkish government for that embassy were worth it, you bald asshole.
