Kingdom is the Cookie Run game with the most active playerbase/fanbase, and Pure Vanilla/Shadow Milk became the top Pure Vanilla ship (if not the biggest CRK ship in general) when the 4th Anniversary released, so anyone that knows anything about the subject shouldn't be surprised by this. It's the perfect "Toxic Yaoi" tier fujobait.

Now this might come off as harsh, but if anyone is mad because their ship scored lower than a priest and a jester then it's on them. Shipping as a "culture" in general has always been all about competing against and cannibalizing each other, looking for literally any reason to feel superior to others because they ship X and not Y, so I feel no sympathy.​

I mean idgaf in a competitive sense, i just think its insane so many people want to see 2 literal cookies (that in all their canon material look like nothing else but gingerbreadmen) fuck to the point it beats popular canon human ships (and yes I checked, half of their works are porn as is to be expected on ao3).
The only other non-human ships in that whole list are sonic/shadow (who at least have a clear appeal to the furry fandom as well as strong childhood nostalgia type autism), some hazbin ships (very humanoid/furry demons) and 1 transformers ship near the bottom.

And while the ones mentioned above usually still look like their canon forms in most fan material, I have to imagine that the cookie shippers imagine them in some non-canon humanoid form, meaning that they're gooning over a version of the characters entirely fabricated by the fandom itself.

For most games there's a small contingent of chuds who hate the fandom but still enjoy the game itself, and their most common gathering place is /vg/. This game is such a wasteland of irradiated fagslop that the chuddy faithful remnant simply doesn't exist. I had no idea that was even possible for a gook casino game.

EDIT: It does have a general, just on /vmg/. I am retarded

I am so glad I dropped CRK years ago. The story seems to have become absolutely retarded.

Linking to the current thread since I also thought about this in the past. They just have it as an unspoken rule not to refer the Cookie Run thread as a general not to get deleted by jannies. From skimming over it, it seems they usually post new/updates, discuss the meta, run their own guilds and hornypost, so they're a far more on-topic thread than most generals at least? 🌈​
 
We FINALLY have a trailer for Ovesmash, it's been in development hell for ages now.

A lot of new designs, and honestly I think I can rant now of how overdesigned Cookie Run has gotten over the years. Look at an Epic Cookie from when the game was Cookie Run LINE, then mid era when the game became Ovenbreak, and now the most recent epic design in Ovenbreak.

I'm saying only Ovenbreak because I 100% blame Kingdom for this, and that game has even more busy and overdesigned characters in which you can barely tell what ingredient they're based on anymore or what theme they have. This is an Epic Cookie when the game first came out, and this is the average Epic Cookie now...

The fanbase eats up with joy all this complicated overdesigned trash, so I can't really fully blame the devs for this. They're not Cookies anymore, they're chibi Hoyoverse characters.

This is old drama from 2023, but as you can see they're still going at it. No new Yogurca update since like 2023 shows how much the devs regret ever trying to bring any characters inspired by Middle Eastern culture. Yes Cookie Run fan, the game about biscuits must have an accurate portrayal of real life cultures, that is not an absolutely moronic issue to have. If you like any of these characters, you might be a horrible orientalist islamophobe yourself!

Seriously, if some trolls started a campaign saying that disliking these characters is Islamophobic and deeply rooted in racism or something silly like that, I could see this fandom erupting in even more flames than usual.
 
As someone who actually read through that finale, I'll give a rundown on what happens in it:

Basically, DE, in her new Witch form, curbstomps the heroes, until oh boy, the sugar swan shows up with next to no buildup and revives some cookies only to get smacked down by DE later; there are 4 separate viewpoints

The Main One
- It focuses on the cookies as they attempt to defeat DE

Espresso
- He is in the background seeking to destroy the magic circle holding up DE's power

White Lily
- She is attempting to get the Avatar of Destiny (an in-game boss) and use it against DE

Silent Salt
- He is helping White Lily's plan by opening a hole in the rift she is in and letting her drag the AoD out

Not too bad, however, the issue is that the latter two sections are optional, which leaves a very confusing ending when WL drags out the AoD at the final hour to beat DE

After DE dies, WL naturally fades as a consequence of being two halves of the same person, and anyhow, Shadow Milk, the bastard himself, survives, absorbs all the beast's powers using the ultimate cookie except for Silent Salt, because SS seppkued himself. The remains of the soul jams from WL and SS form a new cookie, she snipes at SM, and he then flees into the effing multiverse

As for my actual opinion on the finale, it is bad, but not for what the fandom is saying, it is bad because of the garbage pacing and the first two acts wasting their time on setting up the fight and an entire middle chapter dedicated to literal fanservice, as in ancient vs beasts rematches, and the devs blantant ensistence on keeping the blue jester alive because of money.

Overall, I find the fandom's complaints nonsensical. I earnestly do not think anything will appease them at all. Keep all the beasts alive, there will be complaints about bowing to their fans, kill them all? There will be complaints that they were not given a chance to redeem themselves.

And finally, as for WL's death, I found it thematically fitting and logical; however, major chunks of the fandom projected themselves onto her, and now they are mad that the devs followed through on the two halves of the same-soul logic and ended with WL dead.

And finally, as for the complaints about how PV x WL was forced into existence, all I can say is that you have not been paying attention at all, or you have blinded yourself to all the hints this game has been giving.
