I bought the game and had fun playing a few matches. Hopefully it has some staying power because I miss semi hardcore shooters like Rising Storm or Squad.
 
Im enjoying the game pretty well for what it is, I know its alot to ask from a 20 dollar game but I wish it wasnt such a buggy piece of shit, for whatever reason when I spend points on uniforms and helmets they only show up on my guys like 50 percent of the time, and loadouts for classes are never saved between matches which is rough. Its a fun sandbox with 100 vs 100 teams fighting eachother and the battlefield is pretty much entirely morphable, people just digging and building shit everywhere is the best part.
I was pretty found of the studios last game, Battle Cry of Freedom, which is almost carbon copy the same game but US Civil War, that game is literally dead now, I think thers not even 5 people playing it currently, and I have a feeling after the initial honeymoon with this game wears off it will go more or less the same way, unless they keep up with new maps and factions and such.
Which I am semi doubtful the dev will, seems like their strategy is spit out these 20 dollar games and leave them out to dry
 
At first htis game was a very janky piece of shit to the point I was regretting it by day two. The glazers would say "it's WW1" and it's like "what, did people TURN SLOWER in WW1? Were WW1 guns made of lead that you couldn't AIM THEM FAST"?
But they seem to patch it every single day and today I foudn it was handling much, much better, more akin to Verdun or Battle Grounds III.

After today's patch @gaysexenjoyer it's better than Verdun in my opinion.


It's really a testament to how lazy Battlefield 1 was in some ways that they didn't bother adding unique voice lines for the multicultural Austro-Hungarians, but this thing has a whole setting for Austrian accents just for your Hitler LARP as the German Army. You can set accents, it's got Scottish for example, Raj, but even hte Germans, for some reason, get a million different regional variations.

It blew my mind when I learned today that "just exxtend your trench all the way up to their trench" was an actual thing.

Game's getting really good

It's just a straight-up good game now.
The trench system is so unique. I've never seen a multiplayer game (well, I don't play Fortnite) with that kind of gameplay. You can actually see the whole flow, in the design sense, of a map evolve over 20 minutes around the way the trenches wind up getting drawn. You depend on sapping.
 
Its fun. But they need to add another Central Powers faction. Maybe the Ottomans or Bulgaria.
 
Fun game indeed. But I do wish they had a better level up system. Its retarded why some classes start off with shitty guns like a single shot rifle for most sniper classes.
