Is F1 about racing cars or is it about who can react to made up regulations that change every couple of cycles?
It's pretty much always been about the later hasn't it and the constructors is the 'real' championship that very few really give a shit about. It's not until years after a regulation shake-up that we actually see a competitive drivers competition, if ever. Introducing a new sophisticated power unit every few years is another recipe for single team domination. I just hope the mercs aren't sandbagging as hard as '14 when they were too afraid to run at full power lest something be done about it.

Alright alright. Whose idea was to make F1 even more retarded? Was it to lure Audi? We didn't need Audi with their ugly livery.

Normies are wetting themselves about the first few laps when Woody and Leglerg were battling for the lead, but once you know why one was catching the other again, it loses all its glory.

And damn the sound that the cars made during the "pre-start" phase was soul-crushingly gross.

We knew it was going to be bad, but it's really bad.

There’s so much young talent in f2-f3
Ugo
Slater
Camara
Tsolov
Varrone
Stenshorne
Just off the top of my head and with the success of Hadjar/bortoleto/ollie and how Arvid looked I wonder if f1 teams are gonna starting ditching drivers like colapinto, etc

I'm honestly shocked that there isn't more turnover right now.

There could be a fast churn on midfield drivers that aren't delivering results and aren't social media stars (Ocon, Albon, Gasly). In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if that's what happens when that age group retires from the sport.

The problem is which one is going to have the fiscal firepower to make the cut. There have been many guys who looked like they'd be a shoe-in for an F1 seat over the past 5 years but they don't bring in enough sponsor dollars compared to guys who have been in the sport for ages, so they get thrown to the limbo of Formula E, WEC, or Indycar. Back in the day when they could just have the guy do test mule sessions every week and he'd get a grip around the car from that. Now, since that is banned it's going to be very hard to even get these people to show their pace except on the few weekends they are allowed to do a FP sesh.

Gasly dragged that Alpin tractor to some impressive results last season, Albon has had decent performances as well and is a solid F1 driver. Ocon is being pressured by Haas to deliver, he could be a replacement candidate.
And cash / sponsors > driving talent in F1.
There are many great drivers out there that will never get a shot at F1 because some mid drivers with the right connections and sponsors will get the position. Always been this way and it'll sadly never change.

Impressive maybe. Enough to outshine some others? Not really. He's lucky his teammate is Colapinto.

As a Williams fan, I love Alex. Honestly, I do, but let's not pretend he got more attention than Carlos last season. He outscored Carlos, in fact, but Carlos' podiums got all the attention.

Yup. If he can't at least match Ollie (and Ollie doesn't end up at Ferrari, which if he did, leaves him a senior to train up a replacement), he's probably cooked.

Sure. But there used to be a time when talent in other entertainment media was given space to develop. It's only a matter of time when a sport that is very social media driven is going to account for how many clicks a driver gets in addition to how well they can drive (and we know this considering how much Middle Eastern money the sport is willing to accept to keep itself afloat). Lando even said he was cracking under the pressure of having to be a social media personality. I don't think that's incidental. I think that's very much in line with how F1 intends to operate.

And if that's true, loyalty among the teams will be even worse than what we see now. Might be a way in for newer talent, but the grind will be harsher than ever.

Rumor: someone said they found Isack Hadjar and Kimi Andrea Antonelli on a plane. They were discussing about the Bahrein and Saudi Arabia races been chancelled due to the conflict in middle east.
Claims that Hadjar told Antonelli "two races less to win".
Images attached are the proof the rumor has to sustain those claims.

You know how the FIA, FOM, Crofty and all the other shills keep saying safety first as an excuse to keep ruining the sport?

Well this situation is going to prove that false and that sacks of sportswashing money is most important. You still don't get wet racing though.

So Toto wants to turn alpine into a merc junior team
With the cost cap and the amount the teams now get back from the FIA and sponsors, running a team isn't as expensive as it once was, so I can understand why Toto wants his own Racing Bulls like junior team to place young drivers and engineers, especially as Williams seem to have indicated they no longer want to be looking after Mercedes' young drivers like they did with George Russell.

Actually if Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are cancelled, they could do a extra testing weekend to fix those shit regulations as much as possible without scrapping the hybrid engines the teams just spent the last 3 years and hundreds of millions into.
