Enthusiasm for it waned after two seasons of Stargate Universe couldn't find its footing (and buried itself in endless inter-personal drama despite being set literally fucking galaxies away from Earth) and was unceremoniously cancelled. There's not much left for that setting to really explore -- humans basically rule the Milky Way (after the Asgard ascended and left them their tech), humans don't strictly rule Pegasus but have a pretty good foothold (and setting a new series there would just be more of the same, TBH), and there's not actually a lot of point exploring the universe at large (at least humans couldn't find much of interest in two seasons' worth of adventures).
