I got this video recommended to me and while it doesn't mention trannies directly, a lot of the complaints here are directed towards the exact indie-slop this thread focuses on (he does mention the abundance of furry developers though so I wouldn't be surprised if he harbors more than a few grudges than he initially lets on). Mentions the praise that indie games gets purely for being indie, the overabundance of crap, the general cult-like behavior of indie fans, etc. It's not that long, but it's genuinely so satisfying to see a video actually critiquing indie games for once in a nice, concise eight-minute video, especially compared to the typical hour long cope videos about how indie devs are going to save the world or something like that. I hope this is the start of people finally beginning to saying no to this crap without being afraid to take a dump on the "starving" LGBTQ+ furry artists. I couldn't care less about the personal identities of game developers, but maybe they should make good fucking video games instead using their internet clout, politics, and gender identities as shields for criticism.

Would imagine that the mainstream they won't ever mention that the scene is overran by the same artsy troon types telling the same #DEEP stories or the same genres being repeated (how many roguelikes or deckbuilders do we need lol). I believe i mentioned this before but some people act like the indie scene doesn't have the issues of the AAA industry and this is true but with nuance. Sure there's no extreme budget, overproduced slop for the masses but it's slop in a different way. You end up realizing that with an industry touting creative freedom a lot of these types either think the exact same or there's a weird nepo clique going on behind the scenes.

Also that video has a super high comment ratio compared to all other metrics, so you know the guy is getting dog piled lol.

The indie scene is full of NEET trust fund kids larping as poor struggling artists, its way worse than the indie music scene ever was.

At least the boomer shooter scene is run by exactly one close-knit friend circle, from free game mods to major "indie" publishers like New Blood. Naturally, huge overlap with the FOSS community

Perhaps the only exception is Serious Sam modding, but I'm not sure

Speaking of cliques I think they're a lot less relevant than in times of Gamergate. When people want to hear about gaming news or reviews, they watch Youtube instead of reading articles on Kotaku, Destructoid or RPS. And as a creator, you don't need to have connections to get free games to review, you just need a moderately popular Youtube channel.

Youtubers are generally also in cliques, especially the moderately popular and above
Nowadays you'll hardly see constructive criticism without political bias and culture war

I love Y2K-themed shit (especially the aesthetics of the Alternative scenes back then, which this is clearly pulling from a lot) but this is just a gross bastardization, likely for the sake of fetish. Sad.
Also the focus on being able to kiss other players is fucking weird LMFAO
