anyways, i've been looking at stuff about littoral combat ships because these and destroyers are presumably important for near coastal operations you would have in places like the straits of hormuz.

these ships are set up for things like mine sweeping and anti air as well. 'littoral' i guess means like - near shore operations.

we have 2 different variants of littoral ships - the freedom variant and the indepence variant (merica)
freedom is built by lockheed and and independence is built by austal (we build these in BAMA).

the Canberra is currently stationed in the red sea (west of saudi arabia)
and then the USS Tulsa is positioned by the Strait of Hormuz.

both of these are independence variants which are the funky looking trireme ones that look like this

Their only strategy will be putting what effort they can into flying drones at boats in the strait. Keeping it closed is the only path they have where they inflict pain on the world.

These ships had lots of MASSIVE problems, but this sort of operation would have been exactly what they were designed for. They sitting in harbor next to the Iowa, losing their fucking minds about how they also have been totally fucked by the situation they taylor made for only happens NOW that they can't join in.

I’m hoping Israel takes over Iranian state TV and plays the Shah’s riot order on every channel like they did back in January, and like they did again when the real ayatollah was killed. Unless they are able to get the entire internet back up for Iran - I have no idea how that works or if state TV is still working

Today really shattered the illusion of strength they'd been building up over the past week. Controlling the Strait was literally all they had, and they've already gone from "NO ONE GETS THROUGH" to "ONLY IRANIAN ALLIES GET THROUGH" to "ANYONE WHO EXPELS AMERICAN/ISRAELI AMBASSADORS GETS THROUGH" to "MAYBE PAY A TRAVEL FEE AND GET THROUGH" all within 24 hours.

heres the funny thing.
AmeriKKKa has also been launching LUCAS (low-cost unmanned combat attack system) drones at Iran.
I'm sure people have mentioned this before, but we quite literally reverse engineered these from their shaheeds and are now launching them back at them.

The USS Santa Barbara is parked somewhere off the coast of pakistan launching american made Shaheeds into Iran. Lol.
(santa barbara also one of the cool independence variant littoral ships) they equipped it to be a drone launching platform which is cool bc we never really did this before.

The drone launchers used for this are very small too so its not like a carrier where 1 plane goes at a time.
you can cover the flight deck with them and launch a shitload at a time.

Near zero, nobody wants to risk nuclear war. The closest flashpoint is Taiwan, but the awful performance of Chinese equipment in Venezuelan and Iranian hands has bought Taiwan a few years at least, provided an invasion was ever coming to begin with.

Sure, it may be a case of retarded brown people making a fiasco with actually good equipment, see: the Saudi invasion of Yemen, but China will never launch an invasion against the USN and potentially drawing in Japan as well unless they are certain that their early warning systems actually work.

His criticism is better suited for the Venezuela operation. It's hard to take the "not a real war" line serious when you have American soldiers dead from drone strikes on US military bases, multiple high-rises in several GCC burning from drone strikes, and toxic rain in Tehran.

Russia is too bogged down in Ukraine to do much besides sends thoughts and prayers and China has one good war in them and they're saving that for Taiwan. The idea is that this will either deter China from Taiwan or make it harder if and when they go for it. Will it actually work? We'll see.
