The western trained Iranian army and air force during that 8 year war pulled off a miracle with no spare parts and with most of it's officer corp purged.
However they kicked the iraqis out by 82, the war dragged on for another 6 years because the IRGC promised Khomeini that at any moment now the shia iraqis would rise up and they needed to invade iraq to help, which caused everyone and their grandma in the middle east to send hundreds of billions to saddam to buy french and soviet weapons to keep the iranians out.
Now they are all retired and professional army officers don't last long in ideological autocracies, so any institutional knowledge has been lost.

I think they could find a compromise and turn the Druze and Kurds lose to run wild on Hezbollah.

It can be like North Vietnam after the fall of saigon. Have a deeply divided country? Easy, just go invade another nation (in vietnam's case, cambodia) to give everyone someone to hate.

Not earnestly trying to engage the thread retard but because I've seen this point raised by a few people in this thread as well as talk about the Ayatolah's grandaughter.

The key difference here is that when stuff starts to seem dicey the US evacuates civilian presence form those bases, and stops sending kids to those schools.

Iran doesn't do that, and Iran, as we've seen from photos, also starts staging their own operations out of their schools directly.

Or someone like the ayatolah, decides that the brink of war is the perfect time for "bring your grandchild to work day" where they are cautious about being struck enough that they're keeping him below ground in bunkers, but apparantly not concerned enough to not have a toddler there too.

It's tragic for children to lose their lives in conflict, But I don't use that stance to validate their reckless disregard for their children's lives in order to use them like a shield to try and leverage some moral high ground.

Fuck the IRGC for doing shit like this, and Fuck the people that validate this tactic by trying to give them that moral high ground.

I mean, forget uniting the factions in Syria, going full Sand-Niggamoment on Lebanon from the north while Israel Eternal Jews them from the south could lead to some real peace and understanding between the historical enemies.

I just worry about when they can get Internet back because they'll need communication to coordinate. I hope there's some operation planned ( domestically or otherwise) to maybe get control of the main buildings the Network traffic is controlled from . It's undoubtedly centralized.

Israel is like pound-for-pound the strongest nation in the Middle East and Fundamentalist Muslims tend to want to wipe out non-Muslims for MUH CALIPHATE (that would fall into civil war immediately upon it being declared because of sectarianism), so it makes sense they're trying to wipe out the strongest non-Muslim nation in the region.
