at this point one of my concerns is that Trump will be so bad that the Democrats will see their opportunity to have the first black woman president or some shit because she’d win by default.

If Republicans could it get together enough to run a woman, she might have a chance.... But they're all so psychotic. They're either pretending to be Latinas (Noem, Luna) or the human embodiment of a tax cut (Ernst, Blackburn). MTG stood out among the Freedom Caucus by being too sane.

In my opinion, the United States will not survive in one piece for much longer and Trump will be the final grave digger of this country, although whoever comes after him will probably hold it together for a while, but soon after that this country will fall apart. So there is no point in even thinking about the next elections, because it is known that the Republicans will lose now and will lose to anyone, but this country won't last much longer anyway. This is probably the predicted fall of the superpower and the country being brought to ruin by the American gerontocracy, which is detached from reality. This is almost the end of the USA as a country. The United States is currently stuck in the same juncture as the late USSR. This is a moment of gerontocracy and apathy for the US, one that the US will not survive. There was old Brezhnev with dementia and nothing but sycophants around him, and now there's old Trump with dementia and nothing but sycophants around him, and the country has descended into a gerontocracy. Attempts will likely be made to change this, but it's too late. Trump's election to a second term is the point after which it will be too late. It will be too late for any action or reforms, because this country has been dead, extremely divided for many years and Trump is its grave digger. Well, the West as a whole will continue to degrade, and the decline of the USA, which is its center and most important part, will only accelerate this. And there's also the significant problem that the United States isn't a dictatorship, but Trump treats it like one in various ways, such as starting wars without congressional consent. This creates chaos and legal anarchy in the United States.

I understand feeling pessimistic right now, but the Chris-Chan of presidents, while he is currently dragging the country down, is not going to be its end. The US has a long and bumpy history. We've been through worse and will likely be through worse again.

We’ve suffered much worse than Trump before and come out on top. Our institutions haven’t crumbled, services are being delivered to people, and we haven’t devolved into a bloody civil war.

We will suffer from a ballooning deficit and none of our long term problems solved, but that’s been the case for decades.

This administration died on February 20th, 2026 when the IEEPA tariff ruling came down. Trump’s mechanisms for advancing his agenda is neutered. Time to watch him flail around with executive authority as his legitimacy crumbles.
