That’s probably part of why this is happening now. China and the US have a summit at the end of March over trade. China had more leverage because of rare earths. Now the US has leverage over oil.

Suddenly, China is acting friendly over the whole thing.

Unless you can explain how anything changes with Hormuz in the next month then nothing else you typed matters. As more and more people realize there is no end in sight they will stockpile immediately and the price will go parabolic as inventory drains. Until eventually no more inventory.

How do you open Hormuz without surrendering to Iran?

I forgot that this ties into everything we have been seeing. Still won’t help the doomers who just move the goalposts back. Otherwise what’s the Russian ghost fleet going to do because I suspect Europe will insist sanctions continue.

That already happened, but the capacity to refine it won’t be up for a few more years, so China has a hold on the market for now.
