Yeah it's like the reason Charles was able to get the takedown was for the few moments it was on the feet, he was winning and pushing him back. Just kill the belt idea now.

I feel everything is completely bland and soulless now, not just the UFC. This event is basically a glorified fight night card while the WH one is just what numbered events were pre-covid era.
Pride was definitely better, you should start with fedor/big nog/cro cop and maybe some freak shows like zulu and butter bean.
Edit: or just watch Glory kickboxing, they have a far better roster than the current state of wtf the UFC is doing, another reason why Europe will always be better than Amerishit when it comes to consumer wares.

I'm not really interested in combat sports outside of MMA, I've tried and it feels like going from chess to checkers, like half the game is taken off the table. On the other hand, stuff like KotS just reminds me why I carry weapons. I feel like MMA is the Goldilocks zone, close enough to reality without encouraging honorless Israeli bullshit.

That main event was horrible. Two guys who aren't good enough to be actual contenders fighting for a fake belt whilst Rogan literally calls the audience "casuals" for booing a 25 minute long snuggle-struggle. At least the Eastern European mystery meat wrestlers usually finish their fights.

i didn't even think about this last night but i just remembered that the white house card is supposed to be 6 fights. they were hyping the absolute fuck out of this card and the best fight they do was Pereira vs Gane

If you aren't gonna watch them all, I'd recommend starting with the Pride Grand Prix 2000 Finals (May 1, 2000). Pride 1-8 are kinda tough to sit through, but there are individual fights from that time period that are worth watching, like pretty much all of Sakuraba's fights. And perhaps the Mark Kerr vs. Igor Vovchanchyn fight from Pride 7 just for its historical significance (but it's not the most exciting fight).

Gaethje was supposed to be an easy lay for Paddy, but the bong is so useless that he lost to one of the most one dimensional figthers in the organization. Now we get to see old man Gaethje getting sparked in front of Trump in R1, lol.

I think they tried to get Islam, but the issue with Islam and other Dagi fighters is that they don't do quick turn around fights, that is why they fight every 7-more months or so apart. Be for whatever reason *cough-cycling-cough*, it is hard to count on these guys if they are not scheduled months in advance, and this card was made just the other week.

Gane is the only HW figther worth a damn in the entire division, besides Volkov and Aspinall. And it is pretty obvious that Aspinall wants out of the UFC, and Volkov is not as well known as Gane, so Gane it is. Regardless, I think both get slept by Alex.

O'Malley gets another freebie from uncle Dana, as it is. This is just to set up for the Yan fight.

Chandler is a favorite of the "just bleed crowd", the guy makes Justin Gaethje look like a genius tactician. But this was some bad matchmaking because Ruffy isn't the kind to stand and bang, he is going to circle around a wait for the chance to snipe Chandler's head.

Bo Nickal is the all american win that this card needs, otherwise it wouls look bad.

And Lopez vs Garcia.... I have no fucking idea, I think this was the matchmakers just going "fuck it, we don't care".

I like Bobby, but after the DDP fight it got clear that he was past his prime, and now he is more of a gatekeeper. I don't think he is long for the rankings or the UFC for that matter.

And RDR just can't strike. Yes he has that knee, but besides that, nothing else on the feet. Caio just fought with his hands down, he never had a concern striking wise and easily pieced RDR up.

To RDR's credit, his grappling is effective to tire people out. Caio went 5 round with Imavov no problem, but was gased out by R3 last night. Problem was that RDR was also gased, so this was a easy decision for Borralho

I love Charles and Max, but that fight was saggy ass on a hot shingle. The BMF is a meme belt, neither of these guys have a chance at the 155 strap while Ilia and Arman are around, and everyone will be sitting in Islam's shadow until well after he retires.

I would rather they have saved Jiri vs. Ulberg for the White House so we could at least get some prime carnage on a supposedly major event. The only upside to the White House card is we might see Gane get slept by a better kickboxer who doesn't need to rely on the Le French Faggot Finger Poke.

I think if you remove the White House aspect, it's a good card. I was never really confident we would get an insane card for the White House because shit falls apart in this sport all the time (Injuries, missing weight).
