As crazy as it sounds, Russia ain't the Soviet Union. Probably half of those warheads don't work any more (yes, I know, 2500 is still enough to kill everyone on the planet).

They may not be the juggernaut they used to be, but thousands of nuclear warheads and the ability to deploy them rapidly is still a serious threat.
