You are only part correct. Now, recall that the country screamed about inflation that entire time like it was going out of style. So what you're posting is bad in 2 ways:

1. the global economy is so weak that shutting down a big portion of the world's oil is barely raising the barrel to $100 atm
2. The show is just getting started. Not sure about your data but prices are already somewhat higher in some average areas.

As I've also said, the speed of prices going up is also a big factor and this was quick. The public is also aware it was due to a war of choice vs "faceless" inflation. Big difference.

This guy put forward a pretty good explanation of the thought process behind Irans attacks. If you believe him, Iran is trying to kneecap the global economy by attacking the economic weakpoints of the neighboring countries. American bases, petrol industries and water infrastructure. By this Iran hopes to attack the petrodollar and cause extreme economic damage to the American empire. That is, of course, a desperate strategy, but not an irrational one. Will it work? We can't tell yet. But America is sending reinforcements to the region and Trump talked about extending the air campaign to other peoples and areas beyond Iran. Which I take as an indication that there is still some fight left in Iran.
