Ask men why they do things the way they do and maybe you'll get an honest answer

He feels his choices led to her death, and the death of his child. (Pregnancy and birth in the 1800's, choosing to do a c-section, c-section's usually led to death, wife has a brutal death, it leads to guilt.)
So the character is willing to propose a risky at the time operation, one he would understand could end in the worst case scenario. Then afterwards feels irrational guilt and responsibility. Was the c-section the best available option and he simply unlucky? If it was that way that should be an internal conflict between the more rational side and the more irrational side.

On top of that, I've seen experiences in real life where men can't get over the death of their wife. It happened to my dad when my mom died.
Sorry bout your mom

I've never seen dad cry ever, but mom said he took so much time to recover when my brother died. I was little at the time and only saw my brother through vhs tapes, he looked just like me and dad

It's an awful and alien feeling

Seeing someone you love in front of you, they're there but they're also not there. Even if you doesn't see that this is your fault, which makes your character situation even worse

It's also a gothic Victorian/Edwardian story, so it has to be moody and somber, which is why it's about him being haunted by her death. So there's other reasons like that for why it's that kind of a story.

It's similar to Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier.

When you say he's haunted by his wife's ghost you mean in a paranormal way or just in a figure of speech?

Alright men, favorite Disney Princess (TM) and why? As a reminder, this is the lineup:
Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida, Moana, and Raya.

If you want to answer a girl not on the list, you have to make a really convincing argument.

Mulan cos she was a warrior, the rest are boring and lame

I think Cinderella, since she is probably the only one I've seen a movie about, and it wasn't a Disney one. Obviously, my memory of childhood movies is now very limited, so I don't remember much beyond the fact that I've seen it.

They are all shid. Cinderella, I guess.

From reading your posts here, I wouldn't be excited to read this story. It doesn't seem like you have a properly fleshed out character here. Being haunted by the passing of your dead wife means you need a story of that wife. You look at a character like Adrian Monk and you can see why he's haunted by his wife dying. The way you're describing this man feels like you're making a story to make him exist, rather than him being his story.

Whichever they're fapping to at the time. Men just don't give a fuck about Disney unless they're child predators or they hate a movie because their kids have watched it over and over until it becomes annoying.

Isn't the female lion in Lion king a princess? She's Simba's future wife and he's the prince.

Mulan is what weak gay boys pick. Cross dressing women turn them on because they wish she was a man.

favorite Disney Princess
I've never been able to enjoy Disney. Only as background children's entertainment for my children. If I had to pick a princess, it would be Leia or Mononoke. Interesting, complex characters with lots to think about once the film is over.
