Normally octopuses rapidly degenerate after mating(for males) or do so after caring for their eggs(for females), but the LPSOs are reported to have multiple broods in one life. Now all someone needs to do is remove their inclination to have their young disperse and instead have the parents raise them and teach them. Then we could have an octopus species progress to being more like us
It might be a bit hard to get accomplished, but if you were able to get a lab and all of that set up then you'd want to look into somatic fusion. It works best on plants, as they're not so finnicky about their form(or chromosome count), but it has been done on even mammals of different species so it should in theory also work for cephalopods. If you get those somatically fused cells to then produce gametes then they'll be diploid gametes and you just need to trick the egg cell(s) into actually starting embryonic development, to my knowledge at least. To be fair, if the Holocaust was fake and it really was just labor camps with swimming pools and theaters, with the ultimate end goal being deportation of Jews to various places...... then it sort of suggests maybe Hitler wasn't actually that anti-semitic. I find the idea that the government has hyperrealistic masks of important figures to be a lot more realistic than them having "backup clones". I've seen a picture where Biden has an odd-looking skin tag that almost looks like the ending of a mask. Someone should look into if his height is the same in these pictures where he could be wearing a mask.

(Protip, if they could pay for a place in Paris with a window view of the Eiffel Tower framed perfectly like that, They don't need to be a makeup artist/celebrity impersonator, they can afford to hire their own body double.) It's been debunked more than anything unless you have a link with the guy with a real mask not a CGI one.
