This was on full display in 2014 when Harry Reid abolished the filibuster for judicial nominees. Mitch McConnell stood up on the floor of the senate and told him that it was a terrible idea and that as soon as his opponents were returned to power that it would be used against them... and it was. The republicans retook the senate in 2014 and the White House in 2016. Trump and McConnell then installed three supreme court justices and innumerable lower court judges in a move that continues to bear political fruit for the republicans.

So why would anyone do this? This incredibly short-sighted move by someone seemingly incapable of thinking even minutes into the future? Well, it's the kind of move you make if you're absolutely certain that you will never be out of power again and when you have that mindset, there is no reason to ever try to understand or seek compromise with your opponents despite the both of each being one half of the mainstream of American politics. So, they made themselves as unlikeable as possible for the sake of exercising as much short-term power as possible because Very Smart People(TM) told them that they'd never lose again.

The damage to the democrats might not be as severe as it is right now if Blue cities and states were glittering, prosperous utopias where everyone is multi-racial and gay but they aren't and they're not getting better. So, all that they're left with is a shallow bench populated by shrieking, spiteful mutants who have given up on any pretense of trying to convince people that their way is the right way. You can make many criticisms of Donald Trump, but "He does not have a positive vision of the future." is not among them.

Now you mention it, I think the Fit is the only Honda product I can name apart from a Civic and a Cub. Congratulations to whoever in the marketing team thought of this, but smashing up his car seemed a step too far.

Graham Platner is a prospective Democratic candidate in Maine and he's a raging commie... but he was also a Marine Sniper and has an SS tattoo that he recently got covered up. He hits all of the 2026 Reddit talking points and portrays himself as a hard-working Maine lobster fisher but in reality comes from money and went to the same private school that all of the glowies send their kids to.

In other words, he's a fairly typical gay race communist political candidate and I wish that he and his entire bloodline be banished to Xibalba.
