The majority of the jobs in the military are "cozy", and have basically zero chance of danger.
Only like 20% of the military is comprised of infantry/war fighter jobs, with the rest being made up of various support roles.

It's common for people to go their entire enlistment never deploying.
Something people should know is that for a lot of service members, deployments are things they have to compete for.
I remember the last base I was at my MOS had a couple hundred members stationed working, and on the off chance we got a deployment, there might be like 10-15 people that get deployed.

Also, even when the average service member does deploy, most of their time deployed is basically just them doing their normal job, just on some base in the desert.
I never heard even a single scary story from anybody I knew that deployed during the time I knew them. For every person I knew it was just 6 months spent in the desert with nothing crazy.

I lean more towards Americans shouldn’t be evacuating their troops from military installations and hiding them in civilian hotels than moralising about Iran disregarding the potential for civilian casualties. America is doing the same shit everybody was bitching about HAMAS doing by hiding soldiers in hotels.

Anyway Israel and America have been blowing up residential buildings in Iran for a long time. It’s not like Iran is worried about escalation to that.

So movies: if you're looking for a more biographic movie "waltz with Bashir" it's about an artistic look at the author and how he dealt with his feelings/ptsd after serving in Lebanon during the civil war. If you're looking for action (and muslims getting slotted) fauda is good, it is on Netflix (but it's not gay), and a dramatic version of a real unit (the writer and director and actor (the bald guy) actually served in that unit), it's very much a vibe and the Israelis do make fun of the silly parts.

If you want the israeli version of homeland (when it was good) where the first scene of the first episode has muslims getting shot in the head look at fauda.

Rubio is a "play it safe" guy by nature, but he's been swept up in unprecedented extremely bold action as a representative of MAGA Republicanism as the second-most-visible figure. He knows his legacy and political future is completely tied at the hip to the uncertain outcomes present from Trump overturning the geopolitical board, and he knows it's not a decision he would have made if he were in the driver seat. The Neocon playbook is much more comfortable for him. Unfortunately for him, he's riding shotgun to Trump. He strategically understands the move and can talk it up as an intelligent guy, but also understands the risks and unknowns and isn't fully behind it. His feelings are mixed and he's nervous.

Just as Trump caught him offguard in 2016 going against political wisdom with unorthodoxy, he catches him offguard nowadays as his boss.

What's that fundamentalism based off of though?

It's a legalistic-theocratic framework that can easily be replaced. The only thing that differs Iran from other countries (other than the Shia bit) is that the clergy wield a lot more political power and decision-making in the country's affairs.

It’s a hypothetical, and we also don’t need a high bar. And its also assuming we could ensure no more nuke materials (that’s the big sticking point).

If we defang them properly, all they need to do is agree to a ceasefire (if that) and we can say mission accomplished.

At that point we could do the occasional bombing to stunt their military rebuilding efforts and tolerate their retard state.
