In my headcanon, he could still go home to his father's house, but he chooses not to because of how humiliating it would be AND because he would be held to a certain standard while under his dad's roof, such as no bringing whores home, no filing any new lawsuits, you must get a real full-time job and suck it up no matter what, and so on. His pride is what will keep him homeless, not his relatives.

Excerpt from the eviction hearing:
I think it starts with Russ then alternates between him and Schaefer but I can't be sure. Since this is Russ I can't rule out cropping/other doctoring either.
Either way looks like Russ randomly drops the 'missionary' card, plays the victim over Schaefer's threats to have him evicted, then because Schaefer is Russ' match he randomly asks him mid eviction hearing to clean up the place.
I assume 'real shit' is an auto-transcribe error and Schaefer said 'real estate', not sure what Russ meant by 'lien on my counter'.

Correct and the transcription software did a decent job, only one apparent error (more surprisingly it messed up Schaefer's words an equal number of times).

Russ, your transcript was upside down. And does not actually make you look good in any way.
Your landlord not having a job is not relevant, you don’t have a job and aren’t paying rent. He doesn’t need to have a job, because he’s the landlord and because he’s not the one being evicted.
The rest of it is just utter nonsense that the judge didn’t find necessary to get into to, which is probably because those trivial things (smoking, food tampering) are usually lies or exaggerated domestic disputes between roommates she sees all the time. She does actually have a lot more education and experience than Russ after all.

I grew up in what was a conservative area and there was a "massage parlor" a block away on the main street that was notorious for its issues. When the place was finally raided and shut down, a number of Asian women were discovered here illegally - a number of which I believe were trafficking victims forced into prostitution there. Even if RG didn't post this comment, the person who did is a jackwagon who doesn't grasp trafficking is a nonpartisan issue and concern for everyone involved.Then there’s this asshole in the comments making it political:
I dunno man, I live in a very very very red state and in the last six months my small town has had five trafficking busts. All from the places “you least expect”. Not to mention a shitload of nail salons are fronts for Vietnamese women being trafficked. If there’s a big man loitering around the salon, that’s a pretty good clue you’ve just walked into one.
I love how RG refers to the judge as "kind, empathetic and patient;" in an attempt to suck up to her and win his appeal. Too bad she gave him the immediate judicial equivalent of "LOL, no" he rightfully deserved.

Because cases usually don't go to eviction unless the landlord has tried to meet the tenant halfway and s/he still doesn't comply - eviction kills any incentive the tenant might have to make partial payments and almost always ends with the unit being empty for a couple of months. Making the terms in the lease stricter, or living in a tenant unfriendly jurisdiction, doesn't change that.OMG a Checkbox form denial! Oh my sides!
I'm more surprised at Schaefer's incompetence - he's been doing this for a while, but all his rooms need to be occupied + paying on time just to stay above water with the HOA?

That's probably Schaeffer saying "lien on my condo". He had been worried about his condo building's monthly HOA fee, which he used rent to cover, and if he didn't pay on time the HOA could put a lien on it.
I think this transcript is jumping between Russ and Schaeffer more often than we realize, it's not distinguishing between multiple speakers at all. This sounds like they squabbled back and forth in front of the judge for 2 minutes straight. Must've been a very lively hearing.
The HOA may have jacked up their fee over the years. The worst kind can be scummy like that, once they have a lock on some property, and this sounds like a scummy building.

I hadn't thought of that - marked up version is below with Russ underlined in red, Schaefer underlined in blue, and unclear underlined in yellow. Presumably one person said 'and he, he vouched that you were a stand-up guy' while the other said 'I am a stand-up guy'. Lot of arguing in the block starting at 1:04.
