In Bongland we have a parenting forum called Mumsnet. It's sort of a big thing. I've never had an account there, but as a father I have often searched it for tips on how to care for babies.
Being mainly a women's space, Mumsnet has a board dedicated to feminism and women's rights, and became well known for being a bit TERFy. In the States women were not allowed to have their own separate bank accounts until the 1960s. It was 1974 when women were first allowed to have their own credit cards and loans solely in their name.
For a little context for the yoots, my husband was born in 1972. I was born in 1978. In my husband’s lifetime his mother would likely have been denied having her own bank account solely in her name.
