It was Game Dev Tycoon and while the game can be tricky it only starts becoming so once several in-game years have passed and tech starts ramping up so you have to balance tech development with other costs. He has bankrupted his company so fast in that game that I've never seen anyone else bankrupt it so fast and you'd probably have to go out of your way to do so. It's especially funny given how he always talks about how he has a biznis digri and how he'd run all those companies much better than the current heads. That fucking retarded Poojeeta that is the new CEO of Xbox could probably run circles around Dave with her fake degree from the reputable Very Good Delhi University.

It's pretty simple, he loves JRPGs and has 0 business sense, so as long as his several large bills get paid and he has enough gacha fuel in the tank he has no problem inflicting dogshit boring streams of games like suikoden, dragon quest and yasnooza on his dwindling audience provided 2 weeb whales get him to ~50 bucks and 'anon' can donate another robust 50 to let him larp like his audience totally loves these streams. Ignore the fact that these 500 hour JRPGs his core audience clearly hates are killing whatever viewership his fading, barely 200 viewer streams have.

I don't even know anymore. It's not like he cares about DQ7 at all. The only positive of games like this is Phil can not focus on the game and scan his monitors for contributions. But, there's other genres that also provide that.

I've had someone point out to me that Biggest Yakuza Fan™ Phail Burnellio, when playing Yakuza 5:
a) didn't know that the taxi driver in the beginning was Kiryu until he took off the mask and sunglasses. Yes, the Big Yakuza Fan Who Single-Handedly Popularized It in the West™ could not recognize Takaya Kuroda's distinct voice, or Daigo all but outright stating that he knows it's Kiryu behind the wheel
b) didn't know that the mysterious man in Shinada's chapter was Daigo until he, again, took off his mask and hat.
 
Oh my god is Phil's buisness analysis of Xbob dented, I get headaches from it. How does this guy have a Bachelor's in business administration? Can you win these in the lottery in the USA like a green card or are you really asking for so little to be able to call yourself an academic? Did he learn the word "corpo" in 2026? What I don't get is why he gets so worked up over Microsoft or Nintendo like he has stock in them or something. There's no reason for him to give a crap one way or another if they fail or succeed but he gets in these rants where he's just making up reasons why they suck, it's like 99% conjecture, it's just bizarre.
