I'm sure a lot of it comes from unplanned pregnancies, I'm starting to think waiting til marriage is the key.
Which is a shame if came to that. These don't need to be used by any of those guys but I guess they're expecting "Grey Muzzles" these days.

This could go in, like, three threads, but I'll just dump it here.
Califur, a small furry convention outside of Los Angeles, was forced to cancel a babyfur panel due to "threats against staff and the hotel". The con tried to disguise the panel by calling it a "Littles Meetup" instead of its original title "meet the babyfurs" which seems to indicate that they knew there was going to be an issue with a babyfur panel from the get go.

I've seen a few people claim the Furry Raiders were behind this... Like it's a bad thing.
An update to this.
The trouble was confirmed to have been caused by "The AltFurry Discord", but Califur came out with a statement yesterday that blamed PETA and "unknown users", even though they previously claimed the PETA protesters weren't protesting the convention.
I think this will be by far the hardest statement I will have written for CaliFur. There is no real way to softening these situations out or stating them in a way that dismisses the amount of stress this last convention placed on a lot of the staff.
24 hours before the convention took place is when things started to boil over. The venue had been receiving massive amounts of calls by users making use of VOIP. It was a mix of PETA as well as unknown users posing as media, law enforcement and various sources. (We wouldn’t know that PETA was also making contact until we were on site for the convention as that information was not given to us at this point. ) Because of the high volume of calls, the type of people contacting, their word use and their use of VOIP to slam the venue with calls, law enforcement had been contacted.
We were swatted.
The venue saw the convention as a possible risk, and removed without authorization from the convention bank account 4,000 dollars on top of 4,600 that had already removed prior to this 24 hour period. The Chairwoman, noticing this unauthorized withdrawals and contacted the venue. She was given the following choice:
Either provide an additional 24,000 dollars AND cancel the panel that a majority of the calls were about… or the convention would be canceled due to safety concerns. (Law enforcement was going to be on site regardless if the convention happened or not since the level of threat and sheer volume of calls had concerned the venue. With us footing the bill.)
This was a very hard consideration. CaliFur is a convention that likes to embrace all types of furs. We try out various ideas that our attendees wish to see at the convention and that is exactly what the BDSM panels were: Experimental panels to see how this type of topic and conversation would be received.
That being said the safety and well being of the convention attendees, staff and the venue are the top priority over everything else. We did not want to see furs displaced because of a cancelled convention and knew that we could work with the venue to provide them with any information they needed to allow us to move forward in a safe manner.
We would have to cancel the panel and pay the money to prevent convention shut down due to safety concerns. (We ended up footing the bill for the extra law enforcement on site as well as the EMTS, something not included in the amounts listed above. We were happy to do this, if it meant that the venue felt more secure in us being there. In the end, they were unneeded but were good to have on site.)
So we did.
Looking back at how smoothly the convention went operations wise, we knew that our faith in having a good convention and working with law enforcement would pay off.
The reason we are writing this out is to help other conventions. What happened to us is not something that needs to happen to other fur cons at other venues. It’s important that we learn from things that happen to our community and try to prevent them in the future. Our concern is that smaller conventions might not have the funds to be able to fend off swatting like this. Which is why were are releasing this statement. We hope that this information helps our attendees better understand what took place and other conventions in preparing their venues for this type of behavior from unknowns.

I can think of absolutely zero reasons why PETA would be protesting a "BDSM Panel" focusing on adults who like to wear diapers. Feels more like Califur is trying to dance around the issue while not angering their new overlords over in the AltFurry Discord.

So, there's been a resurgence of the Califur/AltFurry saga recently. Lots of furry drama to study and report on this week!
Califur put out a statement which was already submitted (Original | Archive.is | Wayback). I found it very intriguing and worthy of derision for a few reasons.
1.) I have never heard of a hotel having access to a convention's bank account, let alone just wordlessly taking money out of it and then explaining themselves after the convention confronts them. Why would Califur have agreed to the hotel having control over THEIR bank account? This is a decisive piece of evidence that Califur is on par with RMFC in terms of incompetence and dysfunction. This also reminds me of that Las Pegasus brony con that failed epically.
2.) They seem to be conflating PETA and AltFurry (Califur called them "unknown", but I'm comfortable with accusing AltFurry and Casey Hoerth of this now), almost as if they're trying to diminish the role furries had in this debacle. PETA perhaps was making calls and even threats, but from what I've gathered there was a co-occurring event they were focused on. The babyfur/cub panel (which they yet again categorized as BDSM for whatever reason), PETA almost certainly wasn't even aware of.
3.) Califur asserts the con operations went smoothly and were done well. I doubt the truthfulness of this for
