No.

Back in the 90s and early 00s, I met a few in and around the various illegal party scenes, heavy metal and alternative scenes, and recreational drug scenes.

All of them were fucking nuts and self medicating with drugs, but the difference then was that they were more commonly aware that they were not sane.

When I first noticed a tolerance and insistence on not regarding them as mentally unstable at a minimum, I felt unsure that people behind this had really met any.

Even the occasional ones working in offices I had encountered in my career were more than slightly quirky, outside of the dress wearing.

While completely boring gay men and lesbians are not uncommon, they are not all sassy flamboyant ponces or teeth grinding, gritty, angry bulldykes, some can be grey little Joe/Jane Soaps who just behave like equivalent straights.

Trans people of all flavors though are universally nuts.
Maybe, especially back in the before times, they can be largely harmless and only really a danger to themselves, but they are not really like just a difference in sexual attraction.
 
There are trannies that have a reasonable understanding of what and who they are, usually after a period of full delusion. TERFs have had fierce arguments (I mean total bitch fights honestly) about how to interact with them.

This is by Corinna Cohn who co-hosts the Heterodorx podcast with Nina Paley the TERF cartoonist.

In the UK we have Debbie Hayton (Spectator achive, mostly firewalled) who after being a trans evangelist for years agreed to debate with TERFs and ended up agreeing with them.

Cohn is kinda funny - Hayton I find creepier but it's very much my gut reaction.

They are very rare cases though, especially after the explosion in trannyism of the 2010s.

Seems like we've had similar experiences. I can't say I've ever met a sane tranny though,
because I've never felt comfortable being around them.
I've met quite a few very gay, gay men (who always wanted to bum me)
and I've met lots of lesbians, but I never would have known they were gay unless someone told me.

Yes, I enjoy his podcast and appreciate his advocacy but he still has his tranny moments. I remember him bragging about “I know I pass because I’ve told women I’m trans and they are genuinely surprised.”

Re: sane trannies. I’ve met butch lesbian pooners (not the tumblr fujo ones) who were at least able to keep it together in public, be respected in their workplaces etc. In private they still had a lot of issues surrounding their “dysphoria” though.

I seriously hope this loser's wife leaves him and learns to stand up for what she wants. I can't imagine how little she values herself to put aside her dreams of children and family for this genetic dead end who threw away both of their futures in pursuit of coom. And he's complaining about how her sacrifices make him feel bad. Gulag.
 
The Chris Chan types weren’t allowed to transition. The old school trannies weren’t sane, but they were self aware or atleast had a better idea of what they were actually getting themselves into. No one expected their parents to support them, most got kicked out at 18, so at the very least they had to figure out life before ruining it. An autistic kid who doesn’t believe in work wouldn’t have been able to go farther than stealing their mom’s clothes if they could even get away with that. There was nothing for a true sense of entitlement to be built on, they probably had the same end goals or desires for controlling how others saw them, but they didn’t live in a world that tolerated that kind of talk

It should be noted that Cohn has since returned to identifying as male and goes by Cori. It seems as though he has socially detransitioned to some extent.
IMO later stage detransition is no small feat for someone who has been transitioned for more of their life than not. Cohn underwent gender reassignment surgery (GRS) at 19 in the early 90s. Inevitably males who are post GRS and been on exogenous estrogen for that long will occupy some weird middle space in which they are not able to meaningfully medically detransition, making detransition much more challenging.

Maybe there is a school of belief or social criteria that a eunuch isn’t a man, but they are male.

A man who chooses to have his male genitalia removed entirely or rendered non functional by completely destroying it, is a eunuch, bolt ons and hormones aside.

“De transition” in this case implies that sex is mutable like troons insist.
It’s disingenuous to claim this.

I didn't know that. I guess it must all feel pointless after a while.

Marycate Delvey did a sketch where an elderly tranny with dementia keeps yelling "Sandra where's my dick?" at his wife. (Someone on here uses a screenshot from that as their userpic,) She plays it for laughs but it's not even a joke. 40-50 years from now it may become a common problem in old folks' homes, people baffled by the state of their bodies.
Same for people with e.g. full-body tattoos and so on I suppose.

Cohn seems cool enough from the few podcasts I’ve seen with him on there. I think people like him are crucial to putting an end to this shit. Can’t be fun to go around talking about how and why you cut your dick off.

I also like Shapeshifter and hope he’s doing well for the same reason. He’s definitely not sane though.

At least with tattoos, it’ll be like “why is part of my skin a different color with pictures on it?!” instead of wondering where functioning body parts and organs went.
