I can't remember if it's been two years, three years, or more, but there is a bridge in my region that was closed immediately at the time because it was deemed structurally deficient with no money immediately available for repairs. Since then, the blocked off roadway on either side has started to overgrow with grass and vegetation. Finally, someone miraculously found enough money at the state, county, and local levels to start doing work on the bridge. Who knows how long they will take to the do the repairs, though.
Pretty much any school walkout these days has been orchestrated and organized by adults. There's nothing organic or spontaneous about these protests unlike student protests in the past.

they made the mistake of choosing high schoolers for these protests, instead of college kids. or, i guess it's that they HAVE to go for high school kids now, because for the past 20 years college kids have been the standard, so no one is surprised or motivated by a college protest. hearing that high schoolers are ditching school to protest might make some normies of the particularly woke variety go "oh my stars! they're gonna make all the difference!" but in r eality it's only gonna be the kids who don't give a fuck about school anyway, and look for an excuse to stay home sick or ditch, which means ultimately very few, because most kids get that school is important, even if they don't GET it, and they respect their parents, or fear them.
