Reuptake inhibitors literally plug your dopamine/seratonin receptors with inert particles. The idea is to lessen swings by restricting the flow, but nobody does any follow up. They just prescribe an amount without knowing your actual rate of metabolizing the particles or any individual variation in like, total amount of receptors. They just ask you ten minutes worth of questions at your next appointment and try to guess if you’re a zombie or not

But nobody, and I mean nobody I’ve ever heard of gets so much as a piss test to assess metabolites from these meds, like blocking up a significant portion of your seratonin and or dopamine receptors isn’t a big deal and totally isn’t the kind of thing that makes school shooters
