Every year the rust belt holds a local parade, I appreciate local traditions and customs, but it evolved into an excuse to get drunk for a weekend, buy prostitutes, and throw actual garbage everywhere, heaps of it.
There will be some incidental littering in parades, but a decade ago during St. Patrick's day parades or thanksgiving parades, not once in my life have I seen a substantial amount of garbage, or any garbage even, you usually saw a cup and you would pick it up and toss it.
But here people just toss actual garbage on the street because the "city will clean it up"
This is the shit I see Indians use to cope with their garbage, "the state will clean it up" as they dump their garbage somewhere publicly.
Forget "import the world become the third world", we're already a third world country living in a low trust society.
I honestly think littering should be a jailable crime, the type of person to chug a bottle of plastic then toss it out their window or on the ground is the same type of person who will never contribute to society in a meaningful way, it is the cart litmus test taken to the extreme.
With the exception of rich pedophiles, every common man will have to face the consequences of their actions, we either face suffering up front or pay later with interest. We as a society have racked up enough consequential debt that the interest when we finally face it will lead to the deaths of millions.
