The guy was a Jr congressman just starting his political career, which I think is why Trump picked him. Let me propose a counter Devils Advocate: Who besides Vance would Trump pick as VP? He already experienced treachery from the GOP establishment so there goes most options, he has a few governors that are on the same page as him, but they got egos too and can push their weight around with their accomplishments which would lead to more head butting than cooperation, same can be said for most of the private sector too (imagine VP Elon). He needs a legacy so it can't just be a random pick to fill the seat like Kamala was to Biden.

I think Trump picked Vance because he is a bit of a blank slate. He is young and articulate which is a good contrast to his old and bombastic nature, Vance doesn't have any weight to throw around which helps secure loyalty as Trump is building him up and there for is dependent on him, this also prevents him from fighting with Trump too hard. Sure he is jeeted, but this time around on the Trump train is red pilling everyone so hard on immigration so hard that even if Vance himself isn't, he is well fucking aware that immigration is very unpopular right now.
 
I think Epstein should have typed a bunch of messages like this to prevent his death:

Now with any luck the various social media sites will have the good sense to tell the feds to go fuck themselves and do it right (i.e. subpoenas, etc.) next time. I do think people should be unmasked on SM (privately, by LEO, until prosecution) if they've crossed the line into criminality, but I really don't want these cowards to get in the habit of suddenly bending over the moment the feds come knocking.

Also the left will eat them alive if they just instantly cave and start ID'ing people. That would be really fucking funny and completely on-brand for woke Silicon Valley as an own-goal, so it's totally in the realm of possibility.

Finally, awesome seeing that fat pudgy piece of shit getting spanked for throwing a punch. Eat shit, tough guy.

all of this is at a point where there sheer weight of the interest is crushing
