It's part of the reason why the idea of AI going away with a crash is so unrealistic.
That's just people being retarded. The people think that an economic bubble popping is the same as complete extinction are the ones that will tell you ai rapes niggers and violates the laws of thermodynamics to destroy water in it's use. No you see there was a housing bubble and it popped and that means the concept of housing is just we gave up on it completely. Some people are just retarded.
I'm very curious about this. I wouldn't fully put this past me, but I think I'd need more evidence. What specific artists are you talking about?
I can't remember either because they're all so fucking forgettable. But I am not joking pick any popular song from the past two decades or so and just look at the writing credits. If it ever hit the top 100 then the chances are the writing credits will be attributed to someone other than the person who sang it. The entire industry is just people churning out lyrics and then passing them to an attractive person to be the face of it.
I know for a fact that One Direction was the biggest example when I was growing up. Looking at their shit there's several songwriters and none of them are any of the band members. Their first album was written by
Savan Kotecha and
Carl Falk. Just take a look at those pages. I can't remember the specific group that wrote a load of songs in that era though. But just those two people have made songs for Ariana Grande, Brittney Spears and fucking
Madonna. That's just picking out the most famous ones because all of these people have writing credits for about 50 artists each. Just go on wikipedia and look up any popular band or song and it'll have the songwriter credits at the top on the right. And every fucking page looks like
this guy's. Literally just opened a random song and boom there's genuinely hundreds of songs written by the same guy and sang by a load of popular musicians. The entire industry is like that. A songwriter writes a song, normally with a bunch of other people to be generic and have mass appeal, then they take those lyrics and find a good face to perform them. And then everyone thinks that the face is the one who wrote it when in reality it's 5 different jews or jeets. One Direction were picked up by Simon Cowell for their performance and mass (mostly sexual) appeal, he then was either given/bought or commissioned songs that would fit the band and then got them to perform that. None of their first album was even touched lyrically by any of the band members.
The only things that are not tainted by this bullshit are niche annoying cunts and non mainstream genres. Even then, fucking 6ix9ine someone that should be enough of an annoying cunt to not be written by these people and then you check the credits and there's literally 7 people working on one song (admittedly at least that includes the guy himself). Normally rap is one of the few things where it will actually be written by the performer but I guess this just isn't. I do the same, pick a random mumble rap artist and yep still the singer and two other people writing even though fucking none of the words are even audible and it's just noises. When I say obnoxious shit I mean something like 100gecs, from what I can see most of their songs are written by exclusively the two singers. Or Dorian Electra, her shit looks like it's also written by additional writers but she is credited on all of them first. I believe that writing credits are like food ingredients where the most prominent person is listed first. So she probably wrote most of a song and then just had a couple people run by it to check and polish it. Honestly surprised by that. Then you look at edgelord, Dorian and Rebecca black are both listed in the writing credits but they're 2nd and 3rd with the first credit being given to a Weston Allen who she works with pretty often. Then you look at the guy's credits and he's also edited and produced music for BMTH and 100gcs and some others.
Then you take someone like Stan Rogers. You look up any of his songs and he is the sole writer. Corries also sole writers. Every single song is written by them or has some other fucky shit going on if the song is older than records. Something like the wellerman can be kinda fucky in these sorts of things because it doesn't really know who to attribute the song to because it's about 300 years old and no one knows who wrote the original so sometimes defaults to saying that the song was written by the person who sang it when in reality it wasn't.
This site seems to be fairly good at pulling all the songwriters and performers if wikipedia doesn't show it. Funnily enough Kanye's heil Hitler song wasn't written by him apparently. It's also funny because you can go to shit like the ricegum distrack and he has literally no writing credit on it. Sometimes it'll just be in the description of the youtube video. Though they normally bury it because they don't want to admit they can't write their own shit. For example Dorian's edgelord credits Rebecca Black as a feature first, then the people who directed and shot and edited the music video, then the makeup artists and prop makers and that sort of stuff, then the music producers and the mixing and mastering, then the very last credit is the people who wrote the song.
If you've ever noticed that a band you like was really raw and full of emotion while they were smaller but that got lost as they grew then check the writing credits. For example BMTH, from one of their first albums 'Pray for Plagues' was written by exclusively band members. Chelsea Smile was too, that's from the next album when they were still niche. It Never Ends from the next still niche album as well. Then they make the albums that brought them a lot of attention, Sempiternal and That's the Sprit, they're still written by the members alone. Honestly surprised to find the next one, Amo, is still written by the band members alone. Then the next one, Post Human, that for anyone not a fan of the band does not sound anything like anything they have made, suddenly starts to feature non band member names in the song credits. The first credits are still given to band members but there's then several extras on the end. Including a Mr Andrew Goldstein. And the very last song I check
is fucking co written by the same jeet who did the One Direction song from the start ffs. I'm kinda surprised that Oli has the main credit for most of the recent songs tbh. I won't pretend that I am going to be shocked by what I am going to find, mostly because I've already seen the band in the credits I've scrubbed through for some of these people. Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes. Similar vibe. Picked a couple songs from Blossoms (the best and first album) and they are written by the Frank and another band member as far as I can see. Then I go to the newer stuff like End of Suffering, I instantly see that neither are the main credit and instead a Cameron Blackwood has the main credit for the first two songs I see and some indian with a minor credit. I check Cameron's credits and it's about 10 different bands I can see instantly, search the name and yep professional songwriter for hire. I know FCatR is not the most popular band going. So just for reference.
Here is a song written by Frank.
Here is a song written by some random guy they hired. Listen to those and tell me which feels more genuine. You tell me which you think is the best song out of those two. Imo the first one feels much more genuine and has a reason to exist. The second one is just flat and anemic that feels more as if Frank got popular and didn't know what to do with it and so hired a guy to help him capitalise on that fame. Blossoms was made because Frank had something to say and was fucking intent you will hear it and you will hear every ugly second of it, EoS was made becuase he was popular and wanted to feed his family no massive emotional or creative drive behind it and so it feels more like just rhythmic noise instead of the raw and emotional music that came before it. Obviously shit is way more complex than just yea songwriter mean song bad, but in general there is both a causation and correlation in there.
Basically check the song's writing credits either in the description on youtube or a dedicated database for it. If it's just the name of the singer then they are the only person that wrote the song (with some niche exceptions), if it has the singer's name and others then the chances are it was written by the singer and polished up by someone with more experience, if the singer's name is not the first then it probably means they had some ideas that were then fleshed out by someone else, if the singer's name does not appear at all then they had 0 input in writing the song and they were probably just given a complete song because the writers think the lyrics would match their style/audience best.
