In his defense, table saws are quite dangerous and when things go wrong it happens faster than you can even react to. Keep your blade guard on unless you simply must remove it for non-through cuts. If yours doesn't have a riving knife consider an upgrade. They're pricey but cost less than your fingers.
I used to remove my guard when working with nicer wood because the anti-kickback pawls would leave tiny scratches in the material, but in retrospect that's dumb and nothing some very light sanding couldn't remove.
I am not in favor of banning tables saws or AI, though. What a faggot.
