Maybe this is me just being old and shit but you’d have to be naive and young to believe any place, person, or thing that touts itself as a ‘source of truth.’ Truth is valuable, information is valuable, and how people view it is valuable. No one can objectively claim they solely work for truth because everyone inherently has bias. Straight up 100%. Whatever you think Null or KF promised it was never an unbiased truth, just a truth backed up with archived information. That’s it.
Maybe I'm coping but the main reasons I (and I assume most others) initially believed them to be credible were the nonexistent shilling of their own social media profiles/the commitment to anonymity (for Rowan), the refusal to interact with any commentary community sloptubers, and the total silence on the part of Tom. The last one in particular. It doesn't hurt to put out a basic statement like "I am working on a response that will be out in a few weeks as I want to be thorough", yet he didn't for some reason (if I'm being cynical it was to maximize the drama cycle but it was probably just to bait them into making even more claims so that he'd look better).
