Ive read Jefferson extensively and he went on and on about how much he wished for the US to add Cuba to the Union as a full state

its funny to say this but 12 billion is genuinely nothing in the face of an issue this scale

you could make it 50 billion and it would STILL be nothing, thats how large of a scale we are dealing with.

You're comparing apples and oranges. 12B probably isn't enough but you can't really compare it to an investment in industry. Different kinds of things
