I don't understand Null's autism about this. I, for one, will continue to use the lower-case version. We're on a website dedicated to lolcows and degenerates of pretty much any variety you could imagine. Many are snowflakes who would feel perfectly comfortable trying to compel us to adjust our language to suit their comfort. Fuck those people.

I suppose it's about respect, and my lack there-of. There are plenty of people and websites I do respect, Null and Kiwi Farms high among them. But, as a whole, the internet will get no more respect or validation from me than a troon. None at all.

It's about the fact that the Internet is singular. There is one Internet, and whatever happens to it, happens to the only Internet you and the world have.
It's meant to be a reminder of that, and that you should care about it being shit up by awful laws (DMCA), psychotic users (leddittors), draconian technology (MV3), and corporate overcentralization (social media). There's nowhere else you can go once it's gone.
