I'm still convinced that the reason he's so alien is because he's not socializing. We pick up a remarkable amount of tiny social things from the people around us. In reality it's likely both. Not only do we gain things from social interactions that we don't even realize, but they also smooth out our negative behaviors so that we are more socially acceptable as people. Drug addicts quit drugs because their addiction causes them to act in ways that often ostracizes them from their communities. An extreme example but we're all doing that to a lesser extent as well.

Narcs are a little different to my knowledge, because they're not looking to change, they're looking to appear like they've changed until they get what they want from you but then they're gonna be the same person anyway. Phil did make it into his late 20s before becoming a hermit, but his life prior to YT is also documented on SRK and recalled by FGC oldheads where they tell a very similar story to the Phil we see today. He was always a pussy bitch keyboard warrior that would run his mouth, he was always a narcissist, he was always a spoiled mama's boy.

Personally I think that the lifestyle he's lived has enabled his negative personality traits to worsen, but I still think the alien-ness we see is from a lack of the imperceptible benefits we all get from regular socializing. But there's no doubt that his autism and narcissism play some role.

I came to a similar conclusion today after listening to that podcast, but it definitely seems like the wheel is spinning faster over the past year or so.

I'm not much of a "sky is falling" guy, and Phil's sky has been falling since he first looked up, but he has tried nearly everything within the last 2 years. Pretty much none of it, aside from astroturfed attention by Asmongold has worked.

He is clearly unfulfilled with his life, and the upward climb is over. He is only getting older, more bitter, and more boring. He knows this as well.

He has a remarkable ability to survive online, so I'm never gonna say "this is it, he's cooked it's over" but things are not looking good. I mean he has no shame, which certainly helps him make money, but he's such a boring and unlikeable fuck that even that isn't enough. You're right, though, he is aware of the situation he's in on some level. He's said it before that he needs a bigger creator to boost him and "shield him from the detractors' narrative" like Kino and Asmon did.

He has been bailed out of every consequence of his own actions he's ever had in life, so he's never learned the skills he would need to get out of this pit he's in. In his mind? I assume he wants people to ask him his opinions on important gaming topics, or his past as a famous YT celebrity. I'm not sure how he squares that with that not being the reality of his streams currently but I know he loves talking about himself. In reality it's people asking stupid questions and him replying in an annoyed tone "I don't know what the tallest building I've seen is what a stupid question" then going back to hunching over and scanning chat for people talking about him or tipping. He doesn't leave his house enough to have things to talk about but per usual he's expecting chat to handhold and make the content. I can see why it's appealing, chat comes up with the content and he rakes in money for just sitting there.

That means there could've been an Xbox in the house or whatever that some kids or the housekeeping staff or whoever were playing and got banned from and it wasn't actually Jeffrey himself. It could've even been in someone else's house/property entirely.

I disagree with people saying Phil is depressed because he's lonely. He's always wanted to be a hermit. The only social interaction he's shown any interest in is being adored, manipulating people out of their bottom dollar, and apology fetishes. Even with John Rambo, I never saw the sense that he viewed him a friend... it was based on Phil being above him in fighting games, and John has that similar shyster car salesman attitude, and we know how that ended. He saw John as his underling, Howard even more so, similar to how Phil tries lording over other lolcows now.

He's embarrassed of Kat. Sure, he wishes he could showcase his really pretty wife with her swimsuit model body, like how he bragged about PandaRee in the early days, but we've talked plenty about how it's a net positive for Phil to just keep her there and let her be FAT. Kat, similar to Leanna, is just a status symbol proving Phil Burnell is a Mature Adult.

Financial instability and alcoholism... that's just who Phil is. He's never made sound decisions. Probably chalk that up to being a mama's boy that's skated through life rarely facing any repercussions for his abhorrent behavior. Plenty of people like him who eventually did have to face reality, then they have to deal with it along with depression. I don't think Phil even processes that possibility in the future, and certainly hasn't faced it yet.

I believe the main source of depression is that Phil is seen as a joke, he knows he's the lolcow. He hates his "job", his audience, he's as burned out on gaming as humanly possible if he's ever actually enjoyed it beyond beating hapless kids for their quarters in the arcade. Nobody respects him or his views on anything besides a tiny amount of actual retards online. When compared to completely broken down FAT lolcows in similar situations like Wingo and Dickers, even they look at Phil as this weird alien, and Phil is seen as below them. Phil is truly at the bottom, Level 1 as Keem beckoned him. That is a horrible existence for anyone, let alone someone with a narcissistic personality.
